    The fact that they’re reporting wires were run from a streetlight to a generator means one of two things: Either the homeless were powering the city’s streetlight, or they don’t know what the hell they’re talking about! I’m thinking the later!

    • @ddegn

      Or they tried to steal power but it didn't work and had to use a generator.

      Could be like they're charging a "solar generator" which is basically a battery with built-in charge controller and electrical outlets.

      @@MexicanTeTe If it needs outside power it is not solar and why is it underground?

      @roberts2099 They're battery devices designed to charge via solar, car 12v, or the grid. They call them "solar generators". That's the most likely "generator" they're referencing.

    If they were stealing the power from the light pole, why would any generator be involved? It would render zero need for a generator.

      I think it might have been a battery unit like a Jackery. The light circuit would be used to charge it?

  • @peterhagen7258
    @peterhagen7258 2 дні тому +1

    Maybe you are mis-using the word generator. Some products are marketed as 'generators', but they are really a battery pack with an attached inverter which takes DC (i.e. battery) power and converts it to AC power. These can also provide DC power - usually through USB connectors - for recharging portable devices.

    they are probably using the word "generator" here to mean battery. the light pole is being used to charge a battery which is then later used more conveniently as the 'generator'. the solar-charging-system community is to blame for this corruption of words.
