How to fix F66 error code Miele T1 Series Selection Tumble Dryer

Just a quick video showing on how to fix the Miele F66 error code on a tumble dryer. This is a brand new machine, we thought something had failed but it just needed some simple maintenance.

This is the answer! Thanks so much for putting this video up. I actually thought the 'lower' heat exchanger filter was meant to be gray - it was a 2mm layer of compacted dust!!

since moving the machine into a bigger room this issue has never happened again, I think it's to do with the sensor and room its in.

Same model , same fix . Thank you . The white outer dust layer was so fine and so white it looked like a cloth layer until I vacuumed it !

I have had my Miele Dryer for 16 months and have been getting the Dreaded F66 Error message and after changing the Kick Plate Filter at the bottom left, still had the problem until this morning where I removed both interior filters and put them in a bucket filled with Hot Water and some Murphy's Soap ( this stuff is amazing) I then brushed both sides of the filter screens and I was amazed as to how much dirt came out of it. I then blew the filters out with air from my leaf blower to dry them and re installed them in the dryer and as I write this the dryer is back to working properly F66 Error message all gone
So save the $95.00 service charge and buy Murphy's Soap and with a little elbow grease you will be a Happy Camper Once again.

I have one of these and have generally been pleased with it. I've recently been getting the same error notice but always on small loads. Maybe just a couple of items in the dryer. Large loads, no message. I thought I was keeping the device fairly clean and but it seems to have a pretty low threshold for fluff build up. Also, it wasn't in the video, but when I get this message, the dryer has shut itself off. If I try to begin again, it runs for a couple of minutes and then shuts down again. I called the Miele help line and they had never heard of this error code. I found that to be a little (a lot!) strange. Anyway, will endeavor to keep filters cleaner and hope for the best.

I agree it has a low threshold. I have had other Miele dryers and no issues. This one alarm at every 3 goes. It seems a bit excessive.

Exactly, very low threshold. Actually a real pain. Every load the inner filter needs to be clean out and every 3rd load approx. the out filter. Necessarily sensitive. I now wish I hadn't chosen this model.

I've tried that. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I've heard the error can also occur if the room is too damp. That error is simply a mystery sometimes.

If anyone is still experiencing this error after cleaning all the filters, the humidity level around the dryer may be too high or there is not enough space for ventilation around the machine.

is it in a small room? we had this problem all the time, but when we moved and it's in a big kitchen the problem never came back.

The sponge needs to be dry when you put it back in. Just but it between a towel and squeeze till not water comes out!

you can wash the filter in the washing machine as per instructions in the manual. Short cycle 600 speed 40 degrees.

Please be aware, these dryers are not programmable. They advertise as having a number of features, but you cannot get through the second step of the instructions. Miele customer service seems aware and unable to help other than sending a technician at my expense. Initially, this dryer was great, but you are paying for a lot of features that you cannot use. I would discourage anyone from purchasing one of these dryers.
