Hello Adorable Trundlers! Oh, my goodness running out of water and thanks Brian for helping our Adorable Trundlers by providing them with much needed water. I know the feeling carrying a litre of water on a hot day for a 22 km walk it was not enough for me. Lovely walk especially on the Rhubarb Road 😂beautiful scenery. Your starters were yummy and Kevin that lobster roll had me salivating just from the close up 😍 Because of your video posts, I am learning so much about PEI and your enjoying the Island Walk now I cannot wait for the next video. Hopefully, they solve the issue of perhaps the locals offering a lunch menu to passing pilgrims even if it is soup & sandwiches. You are both very fair and the sun at the end of the day will hurt, please take care of yourselves ... Buen Camino🙋
LOL we have been very lucky with the weather, except on Day 4 (which is uploading as we speak 😬). We caught the tail end of a tropical storm 🌧️🐌🌧️ 😂. The lobster roll was wonderful and will definitely become part of the culinarily repertoire of 50% of the Chonky Trundlers 😂 Tina is not a huge fan of seafood, but it was delicious . We can’t believe we were stupid enough to get caught with the sun, we are usually so careful 🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♀️. Ultreia!!
We are LOVING it Mar. It’s very flat, maybe with the odd undulating road here or there. Stunning day today, sunny, breezy, cool-ish. 20 km along the Confederation Trail today from Summerside to Wellington 🥾🐌❤️
Really liked Victoria, stayed there for a week. A little isolated, no stores for groceries etc...but such nice people and the lobster barn is great! Looks like it was hot, that day. Do the long sleeves prevent sunburn? Great video, such a nice way to explore lovely PEI!
Thank you Matilda 🙏🏻❤️. Yes, the sun hoodies are brilliant. An essential bit of kit and it was tricky to find the perfect one. Lol yes, the Lobster Barn was a great find, but the portions were HUGE, even for Chonky Trundlers 😂 Thank you again for such lovely comments and for taking the time to reach out ❤️❤️
I’m catching up a few days late, had robotic hernia surgery. 🙄 Anyway wanted to point out the fleshy plant with the little orange snapdragon-like flowers that you see growing in ditches is Jewelweed, sometimes called Touch Me Not. The latter appellation is not because it’s toxic tho. The next time you pass one look for the fattest seed pod you can find, grasp it lightly between your fingers and it “explodes” to scatter its seeds and startle you! Jewelweed has aloe-like sap, good for soothing poison ivy, and they often grow near each other (conveniently)! Also if you take a leaf and hold it underwater it will look like it is made of silver foil. Try it!
Nooo Jean 😱 We hope everything went well? And of course the moment you told us that, we’ve not seen any 🙄 But the moment we do we will be down in the ditches squeezing as we go 😂 However your tip about the Merlin app has been great fun. Except of course when I’m standing there quietly recording bird calls to identify them, I’ve got Tina standing next to me chirping to try and encourage the birds 🙄😂 So far we’ve established she can speak fluent Hairy Woodpecker
LOL thank you! 🙏🏻❤️ We are LOVING Canada. From day 1 to day 35 so far. So we’ve got two kinds of transports: there’s the baggage transfers, and the shuttles to/from trail. It’s complex and there are quite a few considerations. How far you walk will impact shuttles. If you can walk bigger distances to get all the way to your accommodation each day, you can reduce the number of shuttles in some cases. However, there is not a glut of accommodation, and in the quieter times, there’s even less. Again it’s something we will talk about at the end but you can message us if you are planning now and want more details, no problem. There are dedicated transfer companies for luggage, plus taxis in some places, and also accommodation will often do shuttles and transfers, but not all places. It’s something to check. When are you thinking on walking?
They sure do! :-)
❤

We are being so well looked after on the Island Aida. We’re having a truly magical time ❤️🇨🇦
Red dirt roads and red legs. Sounds like a good country song. 😂
Red dirt roads and red tired legs for sure Dani 😂
Another great day! So glad you got to try the red dirt roads! More of those coming up tomorrow!
We have already grown very fond of them Bryson. We’re really loving the Confederation Trail too. So peaceful.
Ah, the beautiful red dirt roads made famous by Anne of Green Gables!
It was one of the (many) things we were so looking forward to seeing ❤️. Mind you, they take on a different personality after a few heavy downpours 😉😂
That lobster roll, yum!!!
You're lucky with the weather, it's been bucketing it down here in Heidelberg☔
Hope your sunburn isn't too painful & ultreia

I really wish I’d hidden in your luggage. What a way to see PEI! #LivingVicariously

Can you comment about how this work works in terms of transports? AND welcome to Canada!
