I just did a playthrough where I tried to not recruit anyone, and the game unfortunately makes you take Tali no matter what, even if you straight up say you don't want her. Sadly Tali, Liara, and the VS are all "essential".
I actually tend to put on the ME Gamer Poop compilation each time I have to do some pretty mundane and repetitive shit at work. (Never thought gay fan fiction of a space opera would be one of the things I'd actually get to know by heart all the way through...)
Liara was DOWN for it. Was kinda weird how she got jealous about similar things in Mass effect 2 and 3. Theres a few characters i dont think would mind either. Tali wouldn't and says she doesn't mind really since she can't physically be with you all the time, Jack as long as its not with Miranda and was Tali or Liara I dont think she would mind too much, she wouldn't mind Miranda if she would admit cerberus did fed up stuff to Jack and thinks and actually somewhat understood why Jack hates them. Miranda is very possessive, so maybe like a three way thing but not full on sharing unless she was #1 or in control. Garrus probably wouldn't mind fem shep getting with any of the girls idk about males though I think he'd be annoyed then. Ashley or Kaiden obviously dislike the idea Tbh ide get with wrex as female shepard if I could Basically its like 1 in 4 humans would have a issue but I dont think most non humans would mind unless you did it behind their back.
Thought it was a deep connection until she said "Get bent I'm the data broker now" so Tali all the way. She risks her life just to bang. Tali is loyal.
Liara simps thinking they have unmatched rizz when she "gets turned on" (her vocal inflection changed very slightly and nothing about her body language changed) by their "exceptional will" (literally the first thing that happens in the game that you as the player don't even get to decide if you do or not)
All the reasons I chose Liara. Ashley's outright bigotry and racism was always a complete turn off. Only reason I let her live is because I knew she would be more important to the overall story than Kaiden
@@kikirikikirlafsdfskd But Kaiden got more lines. I don't care either way because they are weak compared to other characters, except Jacob, but for content I go Kaiden. @@agama5538 Good thing i chose Kaiden then, Ashley reeked to me like a bull dyke, even though she is straight. Idk she is just dull and stupid to me, and i didn't feel all too bad letting her die.
0:44 This was the Moment, even after a few playthroughs of the trilogy, where my instinct after Ashley's comment was a mild "SHUT THE F*** UP! Sorry, Queen...I mean... Liara, you were saying.' [Moments after the group meeting, within the Mako Garage] Commander Shepard: Ashley. I know your fam been through hell regarding the First Contact War. I might have given you the wrong impression that I'm only racist to Batarians and Natzies. Still, humanity is new to the Alien Citadel relations, and we should accept that we will have to play diplomacy, even if I can't end happily by Futurama standards.
My first playthrough was a femshep run and I remember the single time I actually went around and tried to talk to all of my crewmembers three things happened. 1. I couldn't find Liara for some reason (I honestly think this is a good thing) 2. I had a cat fight with Ashley (Virmire, Bitch) 3. I had to shut down Kaidan. So, of course the reason I got into a fight with Ashley was racisim, we didn't get into her grandfather being a good for nothing coward, but I still told her to go sit and spin, we have aliens on the ship wether you like it or not Gunnery Chief Williams, and on the second time I went and talked with him Kaidan asked me something or other about wanting to make our relationship something more, because we talked often (Less than Garrus you fucking idiot). Liara I couldn't find. She just wasn't at her place on the ship, it was really odd, but here's why I think that's a good thing. My first playthrough was on re-release, Legendary Edition, so we got the fabulous little comic to re-cap the events of the first game as we went into ME2. I didn't need it per-se because I started my ME2 playthrough about two and a half minutes after finishing my ME1 playthrough, but I figured it couldn't hurt and it might be interesting, but it seriously hurt. My perception of Liara and the Asari as a whole jad never been positive, because I didn't go into Mass Effect blind. Shocking I know, that I wasn't able to go in blind fifteen years after release, but I had some preconcieved ideas about general concepts in the Mass Effect universe. The biggest one out of all of those was a mild dislike of the Asari from a writing standpoint. All the squadmates from other races had to have work put in from the writer's room to be endearing, and in some cases, they just weren't. I admit, I didn't like Wrex in ME1, but he changed and got better in the latter games, but I digress. The Asari seemed too perfect. Liara seemed like almost too perfect of a romance option. Think about it like I did for a moment, a race of exclusively sexy, female, bisexual aliens? Come the fuck on. I get that the first game wasn't brilliant in terms of it's storytelling and writing, but seriously? That's way too on the nose for my liking. Then we get to this comic. Those of you who've seen it know how it goes, it goes back over the events of the previous game in broad strokes, sometimes too broad to capture the nuance, but it serves. Even so, it's a long comic, maybe ten or fifteen minutes total, but that's not the issue. The comic brings up one romance option of the precious game. Despite never once talking to her besides the thirty words nessescary to pull her out of a force field on wherever the fuck it was, the comic spent a good thirty seconds going over my femshep's fucking... *attraction* to Liara. That ticked me off real fucken bad, more so still when they didn't mention Kaden, the only companion I ever even got within a dialogue option or two of romancing in the game itself. It seemed real fucken off to me, but I kept playing. I was pretty happy when Liara wasn't even in ME2 as a regular companion, but by that point I had gotten wary. Liara seems almost like something the gsme tries to push on you, because there are more quicktime paragon, comforting options in her mandatory dialogue just leading up to the assauot on the shadow broker than any four or six if the other loyalty missions in the game. Might I remind you, there's only twelve companions. In the end, even though I had a paragon run going, I didn't end up comforting Liara for the simple reason the games really like to *push* her on the player, so much so that even in the synopsis comic hers is the only romance to be mentioned even if you never once interact with her. It's stupid, and I wish it wasn't the way rhat it is, but now I don't think I'll ever actually romance Liara, and it's almost nothing against the charschter herself and almost exclusively the way the games treat her.

Best things to say when your compliment turns awkward:
1.) "I'm sorry, my scientific curiosity got the better of me"
And by extension if the other person recognises and reacts…then they’ve proven themselves a keeper :)
"Hey, back off sister! I'll have you know I dragged the commander to the ship and he said "thank you" ONCE! We're practically engaged!"
I find it hilarious how during Mass Effect 1 meetings Garrus, Tali and Wrex would just sit there not saying a word because they weren't essential.
I always forget that you can go through the entirety of ME1 without those three.
A complete 180 with Andromeda where on the Nomad, Peebee, Jaal, Drack, Cora, Liam, & Vetra have fun exchanges & start being so bitchy at each other.
