@@timferguson6419 Very nice of you to take the time! I'm only amateur and it just seemed like open tuning as I play a different open D with DADF#AD and my voice better fits a step down on open C or CGCEGC but it's almost the same chord shapes as DADGAD.
I can't imagine how many hours were spent practicing this to be able to pick that smoothly . I pray that when I die, wherever I go, there is music. And music like this. What a gift.
Thing about the beatles - The songs might be pop simple but they're not simple. They've got real musical soul in them that modern industry pop just replaces with a mastercrafted marketing campaign instead. That might make them popular and hit charts, but there's no staying power in the long run.
Lost my 12-string (a cedar Lowden) in the Hermits Peak Fire and had just about decided not to bother getting a replacement. You changed my mind with this beautiful arrangement played so well. Thank you.

Check out Ralph Towner, classical maestro who also plays 12-string, doing his own unique style of jazz that approaches classical to some degree, IMO. IIRC, his 1979 ECM recording ‘Solo Concert’ has a nice proportion of either guitar along with a wonderful song selection.

(1965) My mom would throw Beatle parties for my sisters and the kids in the neighborhood who would come to dance, snack, and trade cards from our gum packs, in order to complete one of the Fabulous Four’s Faces. It’s all been recorded. The exhilaration on our faces is palpable. Norwegian Wood elicits a strange feeling and probably bc it was one of my first memories of their songs.. Thanks mom! As a current 40 year old that taught himself for 22 years...get some lessons, in person. I did it the hard way & it shows. I regret it so immensely. But as most young people are, i was too confident in my own abilities. Don't recreate the wheel as i did. Just a moderate amount of help can take you to new heights, places unimaginable. UA-cam can be a great tool, but it isn't a replacement. On another note, it makes me so so happy that you decided to learn the instrument. I wish you success & happiness in the endeavor. It's been a love of my life for a long time & you too have a beautiful journey ahead. Keep pickin & grinnin!

If you think about it, apart from classical music, it’s mostly folk songs and rock & roll music that has endured.
