When you’re winding down, scrolling along, thinking about the ups and the downs of the day, and you stop to take a chance on a video by a musician whom you’ve never heard of, and you discover a performance that’s captivatingly beautiful. You make note of the name, Angela Lancieri, and you write it out so you don’t forget this particular artist, because for a moment you were transported, so you say thank you to this gifted person for sharing their gift because you realize that whatever kind of day you were having just became brighter, better, and more peaceful.

Thing about the beatles - The songs might be pop simple but they're not simple. They've got real musical soul in them that modern industry pop just replaces with a mastercrafted marketing campaign instead. That might make them popular and hit charts, but there's no staying power in the long run.

    I’m a huge Beatles’ fan!
When I play “Norwegian Wood” on my 6 or 12 string without making a mistake (to my ears), I’m quite pleased with myself.
When I saw Angela confidently embracing her 12 string guitar, about to play one of my favourite Beatles’ songs, I was immediately interested.
Then Angela played the song’s introduction using harmonics! At that point, I knew that I was in for an amazing musical treat. What followed was spectacular and unique. I sat mesmerized by Angela’s deft touch with her right hand. Wow and with harmonics throughout, like subtle brushstrokes on a canvas.
I’ve heard this song hundreds of times, but watching Angela’s 2 minute masterful performance, it was like I was hearing “Norwegian Wood” for the first time. I am truly amazed.
One of the things that always impresses me is how incredibly talented musicians, regardless of the instrument being played, interpret and transform the rich melodies of The Beatles, and make the song an expression of their own artistry, skill, and intuitive selves. Angela’s stunningly beautiful performance of “Norwegian Wood” is a perfect example of what I’m trying to express. The song is a Lennon & McCartney composition, but Angela breathed life into it, and made it her very own. Yes, she has wonderful skill and technique, but Angela didn’t merely intellectualize the song, she gave the song another entirely different dimension or soul. As an artist, Angela recreated a Beatles’ classic. Not many musicians can make that claim. Thank you, Angela.

This is played on a 12 string and they are notoriously difficult to play.
The way Angela uses different techniques such as chords, melody and harmonics is truly amazing.
