Loved Black Sabbath for over forty years, and this could possibly be my favorite out of a pretty strong discography

I love the way you describe Bill at his Jazzy best! I couldn’t agree more! Heard that they would warm up with a jazzy melody to warm up before the show…not sure how accurate that is but the band was very influenced by the Jazz era.

Love this album, I've been on a big Sabbath kick lately. Especially the Sabotage album which very well might be my favorite of the Ozzy years.

I was really bummed when the first reissue that was done by Rhino High Fidelity got released and sold out so quickly. I was busy selling the family house down in Houston and trying to move things. So I missed out because Black Sabbath's debut album sold out.
But today, Friday 8/9/2024, I had a good surprise this morning. Rhino Hi-Fi went ahead and reissued 5,000 more. They are not numbered but everything else appears to be exactly the same. So I ordered my copy real quick and now I'm waiting to get it hopefully soon 🙂
Anyway, just thought I'd mention this in case anyone else out there sees seize this reply and missed out on getting the first go around of the Black Sabbath debut album.

Until I found out what the lyrics were, I always assumed from Ozzy's annunciation that he was saying 'If you're one of the Wasps , Give your body to the cops' . For years I just took that for granted, and wondered what inspired such an unusual line. Especially since the song was called WASP Behind the Wall of Sleep.

I have this RHF and it SLAMS. If you want an affordable UK reissue find the BMG Sanctuart repress from 2015 cut by Jorg Peters.

@@dimebagdave77 I do own A Saucerful Of Secrets, and I do know the album The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn…..I never went beyond that experience with Syd Barrett. You opened another door for me. Where do I start with Syd Barret solos. I’ll be honest, I’m a huuuuge Roger Waters fan when it comes to Pink Floyd…I can actually say his songwriting influenced my penning and poetry. I love his style. ✨
@Amysvinylexperience oh wow. First listen to Dominoes then start The Madcap Laughs from the beginning. I have to tell you though, it can get a little dreary. Not in a bad way of course, just something to keep in mind ✌️ above all take your time and enjoy it to the fullest. If you try to put yourself in Syd's shoes/try to imagine what he must've been feeling at the time it helps. But with this material that's unavoidable

I enjoyed your take on delving into the minds of Black Sabbath! When reading, I also enjoyed your "Oh No" parts! When it comes to Lucifer, if you watched the series of the same name, now on Netflix, you can't help but laugh now when you hear any song that says Lucifer! I love that show! Cheers

Hi Amy nice review! I have a UK press of Black Sabbath on Vertigo Records but it doesn’t have “Wicked World” on it but instead “Evil Woman”. But I think I would prefer the US version. I don’t know what to do. I wish I knew what the rules were. Do I get a US version? Do I keep the UK version too? God please help me.

I have a collection with more than 2000 different albums from different countries, really my passion and That's why I'm happy to hear that you also have an Iron Maiden vinyl collection and I would really appreciate it if you could do an episode about an Iron Maiden album. Good morning Amy! I've seen so many people pick up and feature that cover with the inverted cross lately without even acknowledging it even slightly. I'm not saying they should've, it's just that when I was a kid that cover was the forbidden stuff of legend..😁❤️🔥

It all sounds so very different when you speak the lyrics , as opposed to Ozzy's singing of them. I'll listen to the album more closely now... but it's such a great LP... and a beautiful new pressing. 😍🎵🎵🤘
@@PJprog this Rhino High Fidelity is dark…it feels so heavy and haunting. Everything you want to experience from the rain to the tolling bell…the electric and drums…wow wow wow! The whole package from the gatefold to the quality is outstanding! ✨
I did manage to snag this one. Also grabbed the Relayer and ZZ Top box from Rhino Hi-Fi.

@@Amysvinylexperience the box is very nice. I’ve only listened to the first two albums so far. I didn’t have any ZZ TOP on vinyl, so this was a great way to fill that gap in the collection.

@Amysvinylexperience I can't put my finger on just 1. Although I can say all the Sabbath albums with Ozzy and not with Dio. Also Pre - Sabbath when they were known as " EARTH "
