I remember everyone talking about how good the GTA V graphics where, and I still agree, but the cutscenes look weird compared to something like the Yakuza series
The GTA San Andreas theme is legendary. Soon as you hear it, you're back with Carl and the Grove Street Crew. The RenderWare engine was good for it's time. 👍😎
of course they are, you are comparing 2004 to 2013, 6 gb to 60 gb, it's obvious gta v is going to have more detail. Both are great games by the way, but SA will stay in my heart forever.
@@yeahyeahyeah-7674 you're probably a kid if you really think that GTA SA is overrated. The graphics, amount of details, animations etc are obviously better in GTA 5, no shit, it was made 10 years later, but when considered relative to the time they were release in GTA SA was huge, it's probably the game that contributed the most to the popularity of the GTA series, and people still remember it almost 20 years after its release
I remember how the world of GTA:SA felt huge when I was a kid. Seeing these two side by side made me realize how small it actually is (by today's standards).
It's not small compared to "todays standards",it's even bigger than some of todays, even bigger than rockstars newest popular game(13 square miles) while rdrd2 is 12 square miles, bigger than mgs phantom pain(6 square miles),bigger than far cry 4(11 square miles)games like battlegrounds player unknown, the elder scrolls series(except daggerfall)beat it but not by much.Doesn't mean if the games were old, they had smaller maps,in fact the oldest game with the biggest map is The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall which came out when, early or late 90s?(62,000 square miles)
@360Ragequit I let you rid your nostalgia train. I won't make convince you and I don't want to offend you. Sometimes the best memories is when you don't look back in present day. Sadly the game isn't fun to me anymore even though I grew up playing the game. Sorry about me not enjoying it as much as I use to.
The best GTA game ever made is GTA SA. You would expect GTA 5 to be better but its story mode was no good, storyline was good but the stuff you could do in SA was better. R* was only focused on GTA Online and that sucked. Hope GTA 6 is different.
It's not nostalgia, it's just that there was still a lot of effort and care pushed into Leslie Benzes-directed titles - AKA the Renderware era. Contrast with GTA V. Yeah, feels bigger and better and has a larger map, but what point is there when the missions don't feel rewarding, and the map is just padded with fluff to make it feel bigger, but with less to roam around? The less we say about the shit-ass Online the better, too.
Sonic Phil if the only thing stopping you from playing is the people on online mode then just play singleplayer?? Or go into a solo session on online servers??
I was stuck in India during quarantine, GTA SA and bully on my ipad mini helped me through that time...also I had breath of the wild and Witcher 3 on my Switch 😆
@@Messilover140 who cares about the defective edition. Enjoy the original or mobile port (which is still better than this demaster) - i hope they won't replace ios version with defective mobile port.
Yet they still had to be separate universes. IMO the entire gta saga would be so much more badass if they were more fully intertwined, at least the 3D/HD universes
san andreas map its really small, but for some reason it feels so big, that eerie feeling you got while being alone in the middle of nowhere, thats something you will never get in gta5

It’s because of how technologically advanced society has become to where now they can fit more stuff without worrying about storage limitations like they did in San andres
The story plays a vital part as well. Gta vice city, SA and 4 are more replayed than 5. Gta 5 has a good story but it’s not as legendary as the former 3. I completed vice city again this February and 4 at the start of this March. I have completed vice city so many times I lost count. Gta 4 feels more fun due to the physics.
DAMN! It's crazy how the attention to detail makes so much difference. Yes, they're essentially the same places. But GTAV takes things to such a level of detail that's pretty remarkable and real. I was a kid when San Andreas came out, and I basically just messed around playing sandbox, using cheats, never really doing the "missions" - so that was a great way to just mess around and blow off steam- and I have a great nostalgia for the locations - so it's cool seeing things taken up several notches while till honoring the general design / main beats.
The fact almost everything from Los Santos is in GTA V but literally no other part of the map is is quite upsetting tbh, GTA would be so much better if it kept its cities at the perfect 3D era size
@@loloshua I mean they couldve kept or at most expanded little-ly on San Andreas, yknow? Like all they added to GTA V was the marina, malibu, a rural city and 2 rural towns, and a military fort, at the cost of 2 major cities, and 2 regions which couldve been updated to HD
I accedentally glitched on top of that train somehow on my first timw doing the mission, and I killed everyone easily, so I never really understood this line until I saw some video about it the other day xD
I feel like we’ve reached a plateau where if they make another lost santos gta in 2023, the graphical difference won’t be as striking as gta SA vs gta 5.
The first thing I did in San Andreas when a friend suggested the game to me in 2011 was flying in the jetpack. It was a completely new experience for me and I was so excited to be playing the game. I've now completed the storyline 7 times. I still have it and play the game occassionally, the nostalgia is too much. I also have GTA V, but the satisfaction still isn't as good as SA.
Me everyday all year & last year too. I play it over, and over whenever I reached the last mission. It makes me sad that I reached the last mission. They should of made more missions.
I used to play GTA SA in computer cafes when I was a kid; and during that start scene where CJ is just standing beside a bike, I would type things like LXGIWYL, NATURAL TALENT, HESOYAM, AEZAKMI, and etc XD
