Hey mate. Did you do this unsupported? I am looking at a Simpson crossing soon and I have had both a WR250R and a DRZ400e and am thinking about which one would be the best for the trip.
They did do it unsupported according to this: www.mcnews.com.au/simpson-desert-crossing-on-wr250r/ I would choose the WR250R man. Carry less fuel as it's more economical, it's more reliable, tougher in crashes, lighter.... without compromising ability to carry loads. But DRZ400 is a good bike also, plenty of people have done it on that. The WR is a much newer design though.
Where do we sign up?
Great video! I have a WR :) What Pirelli tyres did you go with? My stock Trailwings don't feel like they have much grip on anything.
