Great video Julie. One thing you didn't mention is that after firing the first shot, only let the trigger go forward just enough until you hear/feel the trigger reset. Then you won't have to again take up the slack on the trigger again.
Question if you have a striker fired pistol like a shield, do you need to use snap caps or anything else to practice dry fire? Will dry fire with an empty weapon harm it?
Use caps. Even though the firing pin is going into a void when the striker is released it’s still a good idea to use a snap cap. It will add a bit of resistance to the striker so it won’t wear out over time. I’m not exact on Smith Shield but I know the striker sleeve is plastic in the Hellcat from Springfield. Over time that could wear out and break! Hope that helps and if not I’m sure Julie will clarify 😎
Snap caps are not necessary in modern centerfire handguns and I'd sayevery high volume, high level competitive shooter I'm aware of, including Julie, does not use them. I don't know why she shows one in this video.
Trigger control is like practicing exercises on a musical instrument. It does not happen looking at either one.. practice is a must on both
I really enjoy her videos. Concise and simple .
Thank you so much!
Thank you! Great info! Have been combining the dry fire with a laser cartridge too. All of it helps!
so glad to hear it!
Thanks for the tips

@@SmileNDenile How does a snap cap reduce wear on the striker sleeve?
@@jessegpresley it just stops the striker from making hard metal on metal contact.
@@deussanguinius4263 what metal on metal contact.
I'm looking at different 9 mm hand gun.
Love the company and the channel. Hate the intro song
