Sammy! I was fortunate enough to be in some groups in middle/high school where he would come in to guest conduct/teach, and he'd also occasionally bring in some new pieces for us to try. He even had us over to his house once for food/drinks. Truly a great, gentle, caring soul (RIP). He was SO involved with music education.

Die Musiker haben ihr gesamtes Können gezeigt und dann der, der alles so wunderschön für alle Ewigkeit anrangiert hat. Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass ich jemals den Menschen kennnenlernen werde, der für die besten und geilsten Big Band´s (Count Basie aller Zeiten die Lieder arrangiert hat. Viel besser ist es vielleicht noch zu sagen, dass diese Musik mich unendlich inspiriert hat. Ich hoffe, dass dies auch anderen Musikkollegen so geht. Ein Musiker für die Unendlichkeit in Gedenken an Horst Fischer
