If you listen to his audio treatment during his "karl in a film" bits (looping excess audio over himself cleanly etc), he did know what he was doing when it came to mixing and audio.

He wonders it aloud but doesn't give it as a clear answer. 2. He doesn't state that she would do it solely to see her dream man again, which is what the test is looking for. Ricky is annoying but not a psychopath. He's also quick and intelligent which is why he often comes close to getting inside Karl's mind, but not a psychopath)
