- In this video I take a look at the new Unifi Switch Pro Aggregation. This switch has 28 10GB ports and 4 25GB ports.
Like I stated in the video I have no 25GB devices. So If you want to see testing on that Lawrence systems is doing a video and he has 25GB devices

don't use the 25Gbit ports for 10Gbit since they will all sync down to 10Gbit. Can't have mixed 25 and 10Gbit on the 25Gbit ports.
Good to know. It’s fine in my case I only have 10Gb devices
@@MactelecomNetworks Right, just a good word of advise for future, since people may populate a port and then later try to put in SFP28 to 25Gbit card and have it only sync at 10Gbit.
“Well I wanted it” is all that needs to be said
That really is the most reasonable answer.
I love that answer.
“Why did I get it? because I wanted it…” Dude is my hero I tried this with my wife she didn’t agree
My wife doesn’t know how much it was 🤫
@@MactelecomNetworks smart man!
I actually chuckled at that. Although I could use a wife to curb my spending. I'm afraid to see how much money I've given to Ubiquiti already.... and synology....and sonos.....
@@TashaProfit those are the spendy ones 😬😂
@@TashaProfit oh don’t forget Apple!
I don't really need it but I really wanted it... Story of my life.. LOL!!
Dude you rock! I'm building my Ubiquiti network brick by brick (or is it device by device?), following your videos. Keep them coming.
Thanks for this tutorial. How is the vent noise level?
I bought four or five of these they're amazing should be in every Network at the backbone
Out of interest is there a reason you went with the UNIFI nvr/cameras rather than using the synology surveillance?
Hi did you know were I can find keystone for the SFP+? Thank
Is the four 25gbps ports only for uplink? The effective number of usable port is 28, right?
Yay!
Can you connect a computer running 2.5G to this? Or is it straight 10G or 1G?
Does anyone know how many copper SFPs this can handle? The 8 port aggregation switch can only accommodate 4 copper SFPs per the documentation.
Hi, what is the power consumption of this device ?
Any chance Ubiquiti will color coordinate 10GBE link light colors among all switches? A standard would be wonderful
not sure would be nice though
Why did I get it? "I wanted it". Brilliant
suggestion for the old switch: possible use it as like a test bench/desk switch for full-speed testing and internet
That’s also a good idea
is there a limit max vlans with this switch
Does is have an option for an SLA?
It's now 3 years later and the price is identical to what it was in 2021, still $899.
Can this switch actually implement level 3 features at line speed since the seem to advertise it. Will it serve as DHCP or DNS server if used without ubiquiti router? Unsure what they mean by level 3 switch. Love the video, would like to see a comparison with the Mikrotik CRS326-24S+2Q+RM, half the price only losing 2 25gb ports.
Level 3 switch means it has the capability to be setup to act as a router up to a certain level. It can route and be a switch. Yes, you can setup basic DHCP on this switch.
Power consumption?
would u sell the old one?
man i wish i had that kind of home network
we have no devices either but Ubiquiti provided me a free one since our original fiber has hardware defects - will try the adoption later when my school is closed
We need more 25 gig switches from ubiquity being able to connect the different offices in my building together with 1 25 gig connection at this price point and performance is a game changer
And being able to connect my editors rooms with two 25 gig fiber runs means no bottleneck between their computers and the server
Ubiquity just needs to restock their transceivers that have been out of stock for the last year ..
Ya I think it’s a great switch. Hopefully they have stock of transceivers soon
@@MactelecomNetworks I've been using hpc optics with no issued
This switch paired with the Enterprise xg really shines
@@MactelecomNetworks I have this switch and the "FS.com Generic Compatible 25GBASE-SR SFP28 850nm" transceiver worked great for me (FS P/N: SFP28-25GSR-85).
Cabling for an aggregation switch confuses me. Is there a place to get that information? I have a udm pro se. 24 Poe, 16 poe, ag switch, and an NVR. What is the best way to cable these?
Did you find that info?
@@ihearttesla2333 no
Can you do a use case video between this switch and the Enterprise XG 24
Hey,
I don't know if ill get my hands on the enterprise XG 24 not sure Ubiquiti will send me one and really I don't need one in my home office to pay out of pocket for :)
Ubiquiti should choose a color scheme for their switch port speeds and stick with it. It's silly that each switch has different speed colors. Before, it was orange for 100, green for gbit and white for 10 gbit. That's no longer the case, now it's just all over the place.
Ya it would be nice to see them stick to some standard
Can all the enterprise switches negotiate down to 1 gig?
Yup they can
I wish I could afford "well, I wanted it" lol
Can it auto negotiate to 2.5G ?
It can not
If you need that, the eu.store.ui.com/collections/early-access/products/unifi-enterprisexg-24-beta may be a better choice. I have one coming in tomorrow because of that reason. (And of course: I wanted it!)
This works very nice. The switch is even able to keep a stable 10Gbe connection with at USW-PRO-24 over a line that was unable to keep such a connection when the PRO-24 was connected to a UDM-Pro.
I love it, but I need it like I need a hole in my head. lol
Nice, why not get the Ubiquiti UniFi leafe switch 😂
I’m not even sure the leaf switch is still a thing. If it is it’s in EA
@@MactelecomNetworks i think its not in EA, ServeTheHome has made a video last year
an 8 minute video and all I heard was giveaway and switch!!!
Bahahah I mean it’s a possibility. I’ll post in the community a date if I decide on doing it
i dont need it but i WANT IT that's spirit i have and my wife hates it XD but its always future project
Do a give away!!!! I hope my name is the one you draw
