WEATHER IN GERMANY: Floods and flash floods expected! Storms and thunderstorms in the southwest
Today we are expecting drastic weather conditions that will lead to severe storms in many parts of Germany. While the east will remain mostly calm, other regions must prepare for heavy rain, thunderstorms and sometimes extreme humidity. North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony are particularly affected, where flash floods and flooding may occur locally.
In the south and middle of the country, the heavy rain is often accompanied by hail and squalls. Anyone outdoors should quickly seek shelter if there are signs of severe weather, such as a dark gray sky. The heat is also a big issue today: Saarbrücken is expecting 36 degrees, while Frankfurt am Main will reach up to 35 degrees. Although the storms will pass on Thursday, the situation will remain tense until then. The situation will ease towards the weekend, but it will still be summery with possible showers. So we have a hot day ahead of us, which is best enjoyed with caution.
