    Shared this on Instagram (@EricArceneaux), and many of you have requested repeatedly that I also repost these IGTV vertical vids here on UA-cam as well. So I’ll keep posting these in between the full-production lesson vids.

      I love you and everything you do please never stop please. What you do will never be enough and as you elaborate more and more, you make everyone who’s heart you actually touch with these videos more than you know. You’re so important to me.

      If you are still in the D.C area, how can I get a one on one lesson from you? I can meet you if that's possible and what is the cost?

    I am a specech pathology student, and when I heard this issue in my voice, I assumed it was an issue with velar closure, so when this video appeared on my page I was so happy! I am excited to try this in the morning because the way you described the breathing was really easy for me to understand, and I think it is going to really help! Thank you!

    I can totally relate to what you’re saying about your speaking voice. I had to have voice therapy for that same issue four years ago. Bad vocal cord spasms. When I finally heard my “true” speaking voice, I was blown. I need to get back in lessons.

    This was so helpful. I have always struggled with tone. I am a girl with a lower voice and I struggled with low and high notes. I always felt my range was just small but this video really helped me. Making my voice more full. Reach lower and higher notes that I struggled with so much before. Thanks!

    Loved this video. I have baby voice. It actually became that way when I turned 18 decades ago. My grandmother reminds me to speak from my "stomach" and not my chest and even lower my voice a little to have more authority. Hopefully, this helps because I would love to do voice over acting!

    Your comments on your speaking voice: truth there. Don’t know if you ever heard of german countertenor Andreas Scholl. He has discussed how his own baritone speaking voice is so different than his singing voice, which gets way up there.
    My own speaking voice is very low as well, and I often equated that with my vocal range until I found your vids, which helped me find my support. I will never be a 1st soprano but my upper range has expanded about 2 whole steps, which has been a real game changer in gigging. 👍

    This is always my biggest struggle. My voice is higher placed than most men I know, but I also tend to lean into it too much, which makes my high voice sound very boyish and it wears me out when speaking. Then when I go to sing, I’m already tired, so it really limits me. I used to be easily able to access the sixth octave in head voice, then that chipmunky voice kicked in around 20-21 and I lost around a fifth of the high end of my voice. I definitely need to remind myself to bring support into my speaking so I’m not always vocally tired lol

So thank you again for sharing your wisdom :)

    Yes! Absolutely! And if you sing in head voice while pushing against something this will open up the ribcage. However, this doesn't work if you sing with compression. At least not for me. Perhaps you have some tips. Thank you for your help in maintaining my voice😊

    Holy crap my voice and breathing are horrible. I tend to get so breathy when talking with my normal voice so I tend to exaggerate and put on a fake voice making my vocal cords take a beating. My breathing is so bad I tend to get so self conscious and in turn causes shallow breathing which then induces anxiety which then causes voice cracks.

    First of all, thank you for your videos! They're amazing!!!

    Does this have anything to do with resonance disorder?

    • @ericarceneaux
      @ericarceneaux  4 роки тому +4

      Possibly... But "Resonance Disorder(s)" is a term that encompasses a wide array of possible symptoms, causes, and solutions (including--but not limited to--surgical intervention). This video is specifically for those who have unwanted nasality associated with excessive throat tension, due to poorly managed breath pressure.
