Best Delay Around .... and the best thing is the guys at Source Audio keep working on making it better with updates and new engines! Amazing! Just a little update to the tape mode with a more realistic saturation or wow and flutter and this is the perfect delay
Andy, you looked like you REALLY liked that exp. pdl. Set to feedback! The smile you had said that you genuinely loved what was going on. That's a good advertisement in itself. I've never liked the design, or layout of Source Audio's pedals before, but this one looks great.
Holy wow... This delay seems like something I would ADORE. Using that helix mode and playing on top of a subtle downtempo 808 beat seems like it would be HEAVEN.
Late answer but I've tried both extensively.... boss isn't bad, sounds pretty good in a mix. Also has a looper, although it's kinda lackluster. The Nemesis is on a completely different level. Top tier sound quality and some stupidly deep customization that is actually easy to figure out. Hard to make it sound bad
The big idea behind this pedal was to make it super easy to use for guys who just want to plug in and play. We specifically wanted to avoid over complicated controls that require scrolling through menus and such. If you really want to dive in and make detailed tweaks, the Nemesis works with the Source Audio Neuro Mobile App (a free download for iOS and Android). With the App you can access a much larger set of controllable parameters as well as 12 additional effect engines including "Oil Can" and "Resonant Delay." The Neuro App is a lot of fun to use and it's super powerful, but the pedal can get tons of great sounds without the App.
Yes, when the Nemesis Delay is disengaged the Tap Tempo switch can be used to change presets. And yes, the Nemesis can change user presets with MIDI messages. It's possible to save and access up to 128 presets with MIDI program change messages.
What good is that in a Live Setting ( without using Midi ). Sounds like alot of Tap Dancing ? Shut Nemesis Off, Change Pre-Set, Click Nemesis back on ??? " Nevermind "
+Robstafarian Yes, you can access all 24 delay engines with MIDI PC messages via the DIN input. You can also replace any of the 12 engines accessible through the center selector dial with any of the additional 12 engines available in the Neuro Mobile App.
Some sounds reminiscent of the old Lexicon Vortex and Digi Timebender in there, but the no PC app is a dealbreaker. Not a mobile guy, and the lack of ability to control it from a PC past generic MIDI....is just perplexing.
+Sin sin sinner Their download page has firmware update only for Windows. No control app/librarian etc is a dealbreaker as mentioned. Same reason I didn't grab a Boss DD-500 - there's not the promised Tone Studio support. Being able to control this type of stuff from the desktop in addition to all the other things I have is a dead road.
Not a big fan of the El Cap (it's got the whole faux tape echo that's about wow+flutter the actual units wouldn't have without breaking, which can be neat for sound processing, but I have rack stuff if I want LFO wobble until the cows come home). Timefactor has been on my radar on and off but considering the H9 instead since it'll net me the whole compact Eventide line in one box if I go Max.
+styleomatic We specifically left a digital readout off of the Nemesis because we wanted to create a very straightforward control set. However, if you do want do some very detailed tweaking you can use the Neuro Mobile App (a free download). There you can punch in a specific BPM rate along with a very large set of additional parameters.
+sourceaudioeffects can I also assign other tempo subdivisions (besides the ones on the front panel) that can be tap-tempoed in real time? This would be crucial as I use 8ths more than any other tempo.
+BarnacleButtock Tap tempo, multiple modelled delay algorithms, and presets. Even if the digital were never outright states, this is fairly obviously a digital pedal. That being said, so are most of the really high end reverb and delay pedals on the market. There's some really cool stuff you can do with digital time pedals that you just cant accomplish with analog. :)
Gilmour uses all digital delay rig for his live stuff now. Analog is cool, but if it sounds good it IS good. All about the feels. More reliable than taking vintage gear to gigs. 10 years ago digital wasn't nearly as good as it is now.
Fantastic video. Nice work with the Oil Can Delay - perfect sound for that riff. Thanks for The Kinks, Andy.
That Waterloo Sunset just made my ears giggle, it was so good! I think I need this delay.
Best Delay Around .... and the best thing is the guys at Source Audio keep working on making it better with updates and new engines! Amazing! Just a little update to the tape mode with a more realistic saturation or wow and flutter and this is the perfect delay
I sometimes like the effect/amp being demoed but I always love the playing
Been waiting for the release of this pedal, and it's everything I would expect from Source Audio, awesome.
Andy, you could make a rubber band between two cans sound good!! That being said, I've got one of these great pedals. Love it!! Keep 'em coming Andy.

I bought a Nemesis because of the Kinks cover; love every delay tone in that track.
One of my favorite kinks songs. Loved it Andy. Great job!
Holy wow... This delay seems like something I would ADORE. Using that helix mode and playing on top of a subtle downtempo 808 beat seems like it would be HEAVEN.
Now THIS is the delay I'm after. Source audio are kicking it at the moment with their stereo functions
The kinks Waterloo sunset
That was an excellent demo. It was highly musical and made me want check the pedal out. It also made me want to PLAY my guitar!
Dude Waterloo sunset fuck yes simply one of the best melodies ever written
such nice playing & sounds..worth watching...love the Kinks!
Great version of Waterloo sunset!!!
Andy deserves a Nobel
normally I don't dig pedals like this, that have way to much going on, but the helix sounds great
WOW ! 1967 was sooo long ago ,waterloo sunset still is a great tune.
6:05 Sweet!
Never expected to hear 'waterloo sunset' here
He was just running Jack Johnson era Miles for Spatial Delivery from Earthquaker, next moment he's throwing Waterloo Sunset at me. Brilliant.
"never-before-heard patches such as Helix" huh? That has Eventide's Crystals all over it!
great choice of tune!!
great work!fantastic sound
I am not a delay guy. I use a pretty simple set up. But this thing seems like a pretty wicked little sound lab.
You should use more delay
This or the BOSS DD-500? Your preference and why....
i wnna know too

Boss still lossing every pedal battle xd
@@alex9502 The big problem with boss is that their pedals are buffered. And it's not a good buffer. So you lose a lot of tone.
OMFG! I love this pedal! It's all I need just out of the box.
I liked the beginning
3.18 sold to me instantly.
Kinks ftw!
It sounds great but it really needs a screen on the pedal for sow thing this complex

Thats the only reason Im interested in this pedal.. good job. I like this video.. the Pete Thorn one is killer too.
Fuck a screen
Andy, what's the song on 6:05? This riff is stuck in my head for a week now, but I still can't remember what it is.
Remembered where I heard this riff a few seconds after I wrote the comment. It's Meeting of the Spirit by Mahavishnu Orchestra
@@korkishkovsevolod6101 Similar idea yes! Glad you figured it out :)
Waterloo Sunset, la la la
Can you switch between presets on the pedal? Or is it via midi?

I hope those 12 additional delay engines can be accessed via MIDI; if they cannot be, then they are worthless.
+Robstafarian TBH i think MIDI should be a standard for multi fx units.
nitemunky76 Agreed!
Yes they can!
+Robstafarian Yes, you can access all 24 delay engines with MIDI PC messages via the DIN input. You can also replace any of the 12 engines accessible through the center selector dial with any of the additional 12 engines available in the Neuro Mobile App.
Que pedal para más arrecho.
What Guitar does Andy use? The first one..
Think that was his Reverend. They make awesome guitars!

+Robert Furtkamp you should do some research, read the manual

I really like the sound of the El cap but now the features of the Timefactor are interesting me

Guys...I have the TC Electronic Alter ego X4, Should I get the Nemesis and sell the X4?
Of course NO, Alter Ego has too uniq types of delay
Tc electronic sucks
whats the name of the intro song?
+Gulgus HD Waterloo Sunset, the Kinks 1967
Holy fuck someone already said it in the comments. Learn to read
does it work with the battery?
No, the Nemesis runs on a power supply.
If you find a dsp that uses a battery, it's gonna be absolutely terrible I promise
The dl4 has a competitor
Yeah, but the Nemesis hasn't got any hahaha XD
hell ya kinks!
If it only had a digital readout for ms/bpm. dang
+styleomatic We specifically left a digital readout off of the Nemesis because we wanted to create a very straightforward control set. Dirty ole river......
Better than the Kinks.

Is this analog or digital? I'm seeing "delay engine" so I assume the latter..?

Ever hear of Google ?
Folks, no need to be rude to her for asking a question.
