I absolutely loved our 7-hour marathon of fun and conversation, girls! It was so natural and informative. Thank you so much for hosting us, Maya. It was a blast!
In America, we have a saying: "Use your words." It is okay to say, "I'm upset but I don't have good words right now. Let me think." This is particularly true when communicating in second language. What is not okay is the refusal to communicate at all.
When I met the young Filipina in 1973 who was to eventually become Mrs. Rick, we were both overseas in a country foreign to us. There were no other Filipinos around to provide company and fellowship. Her family was 8,000 miles away, and there was no way I could get to know them. Remember, this was far before the instant communication that the internet now provides. We dated for five months and then got married. I had no opportunity to learn about the Filipino community, the culture, the food, or family relationships. I went into it totally blind, with the only Filipino I knew being the girl I was marrying. There were rough moments initially, and I had to learn the importance of rice at every meal to keep her somewhat happy. So far, we've made it through three kids, five grandkids, and five good decades. I anticipate at least some more years together.
*She MUST fit you like a glove *No salary/allowance unless you made her quit her job for your benefit *Visit family once every 3 to 5 yrs *Live at least 2 islands away *No financial support for family whatsoever *No land/home purchase *She's FIRED if she nags, lies, steals, cheats and has tampo *She MUST compliment you or NO DEAL *Make her aware of your rules and regulations *ANYTHING less, let her kick rocks and pound sand. ***PS. Life is too short for nonsense.
Maya, here’s a suggestion about tampo, rather than have the man come to you chasing your affection and attention. How about the woman comes to the man after the episode is over and apologizes for the sulking behavior. After all she initiated the tempo so she should be the one to fix it. Your thoughts, please
It is not about single Moms with beautiful children. It's about dead beat Dads that may try to blackmail you or complain to immigration that you miss treated their child and get you deported. The same with separated women. To bad because so many of you are very nice and desirable.
The answer to finding a 25-30 year old filipina who doesn't want kids, may be to find a 40ish filipina who looks 25-30. There are two of them in the video after all, surely there must be more.
I think most men have and extremely short list when it comes to what they want in a partner. For me, it is basically 3 things. 1. Attractive enough. You do not have to be a knock out. Just be what I consider to be average or above, and in good shape. 2. Is nice and treats me and others nice. If you are not nice I tend to adjust your attractiveness score down. and if nice that score will go up. 3. Intimacy. All of you should realize how important this is to a man. I understand how caring for your family is important. In the US we have social security to help support retired persons. In the PH, Social Security is the family. As long as expectations are reasonable I would be ok with it. Single Mom's. I would be ok with that, but there are some considerations. I can not be at the bottom of your list. Sadly, some women will put a new partner/spouse and the bottom behind her children, family, friends, and sometimes more. I must be tied for her consideration with her kids. If that can't happen then our relationship can't happen.
When dating, you don't want to waste your time or your date's time. But you don't usually have much to go by when you first agree to go on a date with someone. A general idea of how they look, their age, and maybe a recommendation from someone that they are "nice". You might think someone is too young, and then find out they are very mature and responsible. You might think someone is too old, and then discover they are in better shape than you. You don't want a single mom, and then you fall for someone who has four kids. So it is difficult to BOTH give someone a fair appraisal, AND never waste any time.
"We will talk later" is very different than the silent treatment. Tampo is garbage. Recognizing that you want to have a serious conversation and you want to think about it carefully beforehand is practicing good communication skills.
I'm on Christian Filipino and I find that most women on there do not know what they want. When I try to find out what their ideal relationship is, I get a very generic answer. I couldn't live with a woman who talks non stop so I ask questions to find out who they are. The women do not ask me questions on who I am. I guess I'm acceptable however I am. It's irritating trying to get information from the women.
This was so much fun and lotsa learnings from each other's experiences as well. Super grateful for the time and energy with you ladies. Thanks Maya, love ya :)
Maya, this was a very nice video, Thanks to you and all your friend in it...I couldn't help myself been surprise by your friend Shay for some reason...I like your video and GIO also because you can tell that you are serious people.😇
I want to say 2 things about Tampo. 1st - When it’s not a manipulation tactic and for a short amount of time, 1-2 hours at most, I consider it to be a sign of love, kindness and respect. She is upset or angry and chooses to be quiet rather than argue or say something she will regret later. She doesn’t want to be mean or disrespectful to you because she cares about you. 😊 2nd - Allowing a woman to use her “cycle” as an excuse for bad behaviour and/or mistreat you and dictate the terms of your relationship is a recipe for disaster. There is a difference between caring for her, helping her, giving a little extra affection etc and being controlled by her and/or allowing her to make demands that are unreasonable. If a person truly loves and respects another person then hormones and mood shouldn’t change how they treat each other.
Wonder information provided by a host of educated, mature and experienced woman. I think my energy guides me to the space between Shay and Leah. Thank you for sharing, it was truly enjoyable. Ken
Maya, you are so fortunate to surround yourself with great friends with great minds like you show on this video. I did not know about Gladys, Shay, or Leah so I will subscribe to their channels, they all seem like very beautiful, intelligent and well-spoken women. I had a ldr Filipina girlfriend before but we broke up because I am not quite ready to retire and I was also not interested in bringing her to my country, I am more interested in retiring and living overseas, maybe I will do that in a couple years more. I understand the guys that swear to remain single all their lives but I also understand those who prefer to live in a committed family relationship, its a tough call and there is no easy answer as to how to proceed. My ideal way is to be happy as a single guy, and meet a woman who is happy and confident being single, and date for a long time....until the classic ending when we both realize we cannot live without each other and we let the bond between us be natural and true.
Hi Maya, great show. I really love Leah's energy and personality. I would really love to meet her. I plan on moving to the Philippines in a year. Is there any way to connect with her? I'm 63, in fantastic physical shape and health.

I enjoyed listening to this video however it also made me somewhat sad. Listening to the ladies talk I could hear the influence of the internet via the words they were using and some of the ideals they have adopted. Almost to the point that I was thinking they have been ruined. This was primarily centred around the word ”boundaries” as this was an ideology pushed by Ophra back in her day and was primarily used as a mode of control and has become the favourite word of narcissists. I’m certainly not trying to say these beautiful ladies will use it that way or that they are narcissists however it does give me pause to worry as I’ve noticed lately in many videos that “wokeness” is starting to rear its ugly head in ph and if it takes hold will ruin one of the most beautiful places and peoples on the planet.
I don’t mind having a child with a Filipina but I would rather have her not have any kids before I give her one, the father can come out and cause problems, that’s the same reason why I don’t want to date a woman with kids because she may also be separated from her husband and that’s a no good option for me. As far about Tompo , I dated a woman from the Philippines before and experienced Tompo and tried to let her understand that she could speak her mind and I wouldn’t get mad , it kinda worked and kinda didn’t at the same time 😂. As far as taking about myself, I won’t talk too much about myself, it comes off disingenuous (fake) I am a simple man with simple needs . But retirement brings a bunch of challenges but everyone is different and want different things. 👍👍😎
Hey, your sound is over modulated (distorted) at times, probably because you're talking too closely into those microphones. They are designed to be clipped to your clothing, not put up right against your mouth, just an FYI.
I went for now 2 times in Philippines, 2 1/2 days on flight and stop over, 120 000 PHP for the plane ticket, 60 000 PHP for vaccines, 4500 PHP/ month for medical insurance, at least 40 000 PHP for rent a condo or an appart each month, white taxes for appart, taxis and many others services. Moments in Philippines when we don't work and don't have salary. I've not really been in a relationship with a Filipina to fully understand the Tampo experience, but I can appreciate a Partner who would become silent and suffer through their own mental anguish in order to not calm down and not risk saying hurtful things to others they love. Great conversation and well worth my time.... best of luck getting those microphones/sound figured out. It's all work in progress, right. Peace and Love, B Goat

1) get married
2) cohabitate
3) impregnate
4) raise some other fool's kids
