- This bar chart race shows the world population 1900-2100. The chart shows the countries with the biggest populations in the world.
The data shows population estimates between 1900-2024 and then a population projection to 2100.
China has the biggest population until being overtaken by India in 2023.
European nations are present in the chart in the 20th century but the 21st century is dominated by Asian and African nations.
Many nations are projected to experience population decline. For nations such as China, Japan, and Brazil the population trend is expected to be downward this century. China in particular is heading towards a population collapse later this century.
Throughout Europe, Asia, North and South America the population trend is projected to be downward in future.
However, there are many African like Nigeria, Egypt and Tanzania which still have an increasing population trend through to 2100.
The United States of America is also projected to have an increasing population trend up to 2100.

@@Statzilla Yep> census>stimative> The census matters more than an estimate, I hope they adopt the census data, and from there redo the estimates, as this means there is an error of 15 million people case remains the estimate.
Thinking about a Brazilian census, it must be a challenge for a country with such a vast size. I wonder how they count those people that are 'uncontacted' in the Amazon? Do they estimate this or are just not accounted for in the census? A very interesting subject.

203 MILLION PEOPLE is possibly an overestimated number, the real population tends to have a smaller accounting.
