This will only work on a three phase winding connected for single phase. Where the winding is connected in Delta with 3 leads out. But for your motor, you have a dedicated start and run winding and the only way to reverse direction is to interchange the run or start winding connection.

This only works when the starting and running winding are winded with same wire and their current rating also same then this will work. It is not possible for every motors there is some kind of motors does this like semi automatic washing machines uses this method to spin both directions thank you.
How about the inverter to adjust speed?
You didn't mentioned the components name
1:42 totally wrong method for REVERSE/FORWARD connection if you need to reverse the motor you should interchange the STARTING or RUNNING winding leads in the connection.
R1--> R2 or S1-->S2 .
By your method the motor will burn cause of full voltage applied to the starting winding S1 & S2 .
Check once again.

@@fwelectrical1034 In capacitor start motor the motor's STARTING WINDING should be connected series with the supply voltage.
You just draw as given this video then check and verify the connection then you can understand .

To reverse single phase motor just reverse the starting winding terminals
For forward S1 goes to R1 and S2 goes to C2
For reverse S1 goes to C2 and S2 goes to R1
