- Sweden has officially become the 32nd member of Nato after it completed its accession process in Washington.
The handover of documents took place at a ceremony two years after Sweden applied to join the military alliance following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said that "unity and solidarity" would be Sweden's "guiding lights".
"Good things come to those who wait," US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said.

Well, just as the Cuba missile crisis where the US wouldn't allow the Soviets to place nukes in Cuba which is so close to the US, the reason Putin further advanced the invasion of Ukraine (don't forget that Crimea has been occupied since 2014, and has regularly had its citizens swapped out with Russian citizens since then) was because NATO was gonna place missile silos in Ukraine, and Putin didn't want that.
But you should also keep in mind that one of the most common propaganda spouted by Putin during his autocr- sorry sorry, of course I meant democratic leadership, has been the return of "Greater Russia". Or in other words, the return of the Soviet Union.
