We started Disco Elysium on stream. This game is quite different in many ways - but it's glorious! It's a bit slow at times, as it's mostly dialogue, but the voice acting and the conversations are hilarious and definitely worth to stick with.

Well, they say it's a sign of an educated man to be able to entertain an idea without subscribing to it.
Ideas by themselves shouldn't make us uncomfortable. Seeing people engaging with them shouldn't be frowned upon either. Otherwise, how would one approach something critically?

No need to worry so much about the politics in this game. One of my favorite quotes is, 'Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others.' That's the same kind of framing this game has about the political options. It's not so much making fun of you for what you choose as it is making fun of how bad we are at governing ourselves no matter how we try to do it. You can pick an option that sounds ok-ish at face value in the conversation without the weight of current or historical real world political movements. The game will keep things sarcastic and we all get to laugh at how politics can twist good intentions. The centrist route is always there too 😄

Don't take the polics too seriously. Harry is uses politics as a coping strategy, to scapegoat others for his own bad choices in life. In other words he treats politics the same way as shutin trolls in their parents' basements, going to the most extreme end of whatever topic he explores. He doesn't earn the respect of his skills because he doesn't take the topic seriously to begin with, they're just a way for him to cope with how far he's fallen.

First
