I've had this model for over a year after doing my research AND IT HAS PAID OFF!!! I get free L2 charging at work (free juice) and my daily commute is 26 miles round trip so I don't really charge at home unless I want to top it off. At this rate, I'll only fill it up with gas TWICE a year😁. Literally no negatives. Hyundai App lets me Auto-Start car/Air Conditioner /heater which is Awesome!!! Audio is top of the line as shown in the video. I would definitely buy/recommend this car to all. Rebates, tax credits bring the price down like another $9K plus no gas equal $$$$😍
Of a person who is looking on UA-cam to initiate compare 4 models before try myself, I've been watching many videos. This channel provide (in my opinion) perfect balance of talking feed back while driving, nice voice, nice character in voice and mind set. Many reviewers and testers go with almost salesman enthusiasm that flood the video. And others have this macho man character when they are trying to be objective and not selling. Also! Big credit for your audio quality. Nice balance between legal driving, smooth defensive driving and pushing the limits a little naughty. Over all I was so amazed I had to comment! This video helped me a lot thinking between KIA Ceed, Niro and Hyundai Ioniq. All so similar and it mainly comes to needed space today and near future.
Great review hitting the important highlights of this great car! The only thing you have to watch on these is changing the clutch fluid every 20K but I absolutely love mine!
Speak for yourself. The other day I "fell" backwards about 5 feet when I was switching from reverse to drive. It's also really clunky and lurches very annoyingly at slow speeds. Wish I had bought something else for the price...
@@mwwhatever That sounds an issue that needs to be fixed, should not roll back. I have DSG in my car, not as smooth as a torque at low speeds, but no rolling backwards.
Io ho già percorso 80.000 km con una ioniq plugin, ho un record in estate con 45 euro di benzina e 70 di elettricità di 3.850 km . Anch'io percorro dai 60 agli 80 km in elettrico. Ciao grandi!!!
The 7 speed wouldn't make any difference unless you were autobahn cruising. Most cars with 7,8,9 or 10 speeds don't use the higher gears until you've gone past a certain speed. The 7 speed in my MB only goes into 7th until you pass 80 km/h. Too high of a gear at too low of a speed would mean drivetrain shudder.
I really gotta say. That car looks so fun to drive lol. If you could can you try to make an video about the new Kia k5 and the trailblazer. I would love to see them from you!
I’m not a fan of the exterior design. This looks like a Prius. But the Prius is still the most hideous looking car. But I do like the infotainment and digital speedometer display. Looks pretty dope.
My biggest concern about this redesign is that there is no space for me to attach my phone for Uber/DoorDash delivery. My phone will block the screen because of the new vent location.
I wished they could have doubled the battery size without significant increase in cost. This would be so much better with a 20kwh pack, you could easily get ~150km range on that, but still have gas backup for longer trips.
Does anyone know if its safe to have fuel resting in a tank unused for a while, does it go stagnant or am just being daft, i ask because if i got this car my commute is around 25miles both ways so likely fuel wont be used that often
As rain P said , about 6 months and if you want to play it safe you can buy some petrol preserver additive that you can put every fill up, it cost peanuts and goes a long way.
most south korean wants i30 fastback and i30n fastback but it seems like ioniq is replaced of the model here ;/ but i have droven ioniq hybrid before i got veloster 1.6 turbo 2019 and it feels more high quality interior than veloster lol
Arjan Singh I’m not stupid. I know there is no hybrid with standard manual transmissions. Only regular 4 ,6 or 8 cylinder gas cars may come in manual transmissions.
My 2020 PHEV has had a check HEV engine issue since first day of purchase, and Hyundai Tech Line doesn't know how to fix it. I've driven my car for 10 days total since January. It once auto braked in the missed of an intersection because of the warning light. Drive your PHEV up a large mountain interstate and watch it do 55MPH max wo/sport mode.
These digital speedometers are cool when they are brand new and they work but what will happen when the car gets old and the speedometer or even the infotainment stops working ? It’s gonna be one expensive repair.
That’s why you lease these kind of cars, you don’t wanna own any kind of electric or plug in hybrid, nor with an air suspension or something better, any repair after warranty is over it’s going to cost you a kidney, so you lease them, use them two years or less and exchange it for a newer one, in the end you pay the cars worth but you don’t really lose money by depreciation or services
@@TheVieneses if you can't afford to maintain these vehicles, don't buy them in the first place. Stick to your old beater. Most people who buy these brand new cars already know that they will be able to keep them maintained or repaired if they fail.
Ok it supposed to be light and gas efficient but it uses steel rims with some cheap hubcaps. Drive it going up grapevine the car will beg you to shoot it because it will beg you to kill it. Drive it in sport mode for awhile the transmission will take a crap.
I'm gonna be special and say that I am definitely not a fan of the DCT. My 2013 chevy volt was way more fun to drive, smoother, and more responsive. I wonder how the mileage in this car would compare if they had made an ecvt transmission like Toyota. I really don't understand what the value is in a clunky, lurching transmission that takes like 5 seconds to switch between drive and reverse and vice versa

Not only drives better than the prius, but it is much more beautiful and has a better interior and infotainment system. For me it's a no brainer
Definitely. I never liked the interior in the current Prius. This Hyundai absolutely is a better choice imo

Chris has the best, smoothest and most soothing voice on YT.
WHY ARE YOU TALKING SO CALMING TODAY 😂
this voice is so relaxing haha

If I had to choose one car to do a cross country trip, out of any car on the market, I'd go for this.
The DCT alone just makes this more appealing than a Prius. Some crazy Ionic lease deals mentioned in car and driver.

I felt this drive with that playlist 👌
dude drives like a maniac on a ioniq
It's really sad it only has a 6 speed, it could make good use of a 7th gear to have closer ratios early on.
At least it doesn't have a CVT :)

Gotta say you and tedward are much better drivers then that guy from winding road magazine.
Kia and Hyundai group transferred a chef designer from Audi decade ago. So, your feeling is right.
Dont foget our Crystler pacific Pov night drive....btw great video as usual

You should review the Kia Forte gt2. My dad owns one. It’s like an SI without v tech

Can you pair this with comma ai and open drive to get a level 2 chill driver ?
Why does the Navi and the climate control setup look similar to the Toyota Corollas Navi and climate control setup

Personally i think the VW Golf GTE is the sportiest plug in hybrid
The signal sound effect is a bit irritating thats my only gripe
I really loved the steering wheel. Hyundai should have given the same steering in the Indian Verna. :)

Try driving it with 4 adults and a trunk full of luggage. I'd be interested in seeing how it drives then.
