if any of you see this video, just know that recently this celica blew a hole in the block and caught on fire. she is now sitting in the junkyard because we are moving again :(
Awesome! My first was an '86 Celica GT, then I had a '92, manual as my DD. Upgraded the fuck out of the stereo. And changed out the cat and exhaust. Drove that thing for 8 years, gave it to a friend. he drove it for 5 more years. He gave it to his nephew, who drove it for 3 more before it died, with its mileage in the 370's.
About to go have a look at one of these , it’s the wrc trophy edition ,290k but as a mechanic I think I should be able to handle any potential problems that arise
I got a 86 ST161 and my car can barely go 80mph without having to be at 4K Rpm 💀. I got the 2SE engine in mine and its slow af but it's still a little fun project car that I'm planning to RWD swap and either 3SGTE or K series or B series swap
@@5TINKYMX5 it really be like dat haha but the good thing is I live near a mountain/valley so being able to keep a consistent 40-60mph is just right for me cause it has so much low end torque. Me n my friend just finished painting it and its not half bad. Could be better! But haha atm im just taking things slowly next are wheels and suspension and I'm spending probably about 1k or 2k together or so 3k max probably though.
I've had a beautiful black 1992 GTS automatic since 2001. It's still in my driveway, but has been parked for five years. Needs body work :( Best car ever. Just can't let it go. My Lexus IS350 does not compare.
@@thechannel498 Both rockers, drivers floor pan has a hole in it, drivers rear fender. The rest is pretty good though. Paint top to bottom. Well, and it's been sitting for five years. So the usual mechanicals. Ran great when it was parked. ~220km on it.
I’m thinking about buying this as my daily driver but I don’t wanna do too much maintenance work on it because I’m poor lol Is this a bad purchase for my case?
i’d say 100% do it. the engines are extremely common because they came in corollas or camrys and a lot of the suspension is shared as well. as for maintenance, it’s a toyota so you’ll be fine haha
