This is awesome, I love the fact that cameras can be fitted to karts so easily now. I think it brings home to average person on the street just how tough karting is. It is not just for kids thats sure! It's weird that Liuzzi was so good in a kart but not so successful in F1. He beat Schumacher in the World Champs one year as I remember. Schumacher came back to Karting for that race, but Liuzzi was not yet into cars.
I'm not sure if it's just the way the videos upload to UA-cam or not, but a lot of the Smartycam videos I have seen seem choppy when in comparison to say a Contour 720p camera. Anyone else notice this? The data overlay is AWESOME though!
@jnrblue91 No effect on understeer? Do you have any concept of what a differential does or why it's needed? When you take a corner with a locked differential or a fused axle, the outside wheel is tying to spin faster (cover more distance) and the inside is trying to spin slower (cover less distance). This twists the nose of the car/kart to the outside, causing understeer when off the power.
@lifeisgood070 Are you sure? I always thought it was common for two strokes to rev very high (it's one of their qualities). I mean don't Rotax's and other 125cc engines rev up to 16,000 rpm un-restricted? Even my Yamaha KT100S revs to 15,000rpm, and that is very normal.
@rdowavic Karts are pretty easy to drive. They have fused rear wheels which creates a large understeer force about the center of the car. They are also very easy to catch in slides, because weight transfer is instant and the steering ratio is extremely fast. You don't need to be as "ahead" of a kart like you do in a car. They're very good confidence builders, and good at teaching fundamentals of speed.
i dont think he was driving on the limit. i think that kart could have gone faster. but who is the guy infront with the red helmet. is it schumacher because thats what he usually wears. and the italian coloured helmet could be luizzi because he is italian.
I feel like that tac is wrong... especially if it is a 2 stroke. Most racing karts are 2 stroke & most 2 strokes I've build cap out around 4.5k or the equivalent of 9000rpm's on a 4 stroke.
@bjornke123456789 When the game came out, I thought that's just a fantasy track with fantasy karts, like most games do. Surprised me here. Without the G-force on your balls, it can never feel the same. However that doesn't mean you can't have fun there. People are having huge amount of fun competing each other, or even when playing alone.

Michael Schumacher usually drives a Tony Kart. The Kart the cam was on, seemed to me a CRG Road Rebel.
