Guthrie your relentless videos these past few weeks have finally got the light bulb going for me. The chord tone lessons and triads and constant harping on learning the fundamentals in all positions is sinking in, and after decades of scratching the surface I'm finally getting somewhere. Thank you!!

I've been teaching guitar for 30 years and this is what I watch. Guthrie is not just a great player but also a great teacher for players looking to get beyond that plateau.

Game changer is exactly what this is! I always knew the basic trick, but never thought to move it all over the neck. It works EVERYWHERE! And it's helping me see certain chord shapes easier. Thanks so much!!!!

Great to see yourself and uncle Larry on Rick beato’s fine channel .. very interesting and just love how much fun you have when you’re jamming together … I think people too easily forget that this is supposed to be fun sometimes.. yes a lot of work too … but have fun with it… great to see … and Guthrie your chops are amazing … your so humble .. keep it going man … ❤ from across the pond …

Hey Guthrie, I caught you on Rick Beato's channel playing and talking about your philosophy on the guitar. I thankfully am just knowledgeable enough to keep up with you as you teach this good stuff. I have been exploring the "CAGED" system and didn't know how much weight to put on this area of learning, but it seams to be the key to improvising what I'm feeling at the moment and it sounding good. I love to noodle and explore the sounds on my guitar and make it pleasing to myself, wife, and DOG🤣. I'm excited to catch up on your past videos and soak up your teaching philosophy. Peace

Yeah brother! Some guy was just asking me about soloing over chords. I was just trying to understand the importance of intervals and all of the information contained inside of each chord. That's where the fun really begins. Great stuff Guthrie! Im about to go strum the 75 Guild D50 my mom is giving me. Just got to get it home from Alabama on the plane okay. haha

This might be your single most important instructional video yet. Finding ALL the tritones based off the CAGED triad shapes is game changing. While just noodling around, spend that time noodling for the all tritones for each key and visualize their associated caged shape to help lock it in your memory.

I took your Artist Works for a year and got a lot out of that. I've gotta say, the best advice you've given, in my opinion, is to learn songs. That sounds obvious, but I have spent countless hours just noodling on the guitar. After spending a lot of time getting familiar with CAGED, I took your advice and just put some songs on that I liked. Man! When you do that, you are able to figure out on your own what these artists are playing. You can find the position they're playing in and figure it out for yourself. You get real examples of the application of the CAGED system. Not to mention learning to play in time and keep up with the band and develop more technique. I've got a long way to go, but don't we all. Really really cool! Thanks for that advice and thanks for the lessons.
