Thank you so much for your kind comments. I’m happy you found it helpful. There is so much to learn when you start painting with watercolor, so I hope you will find other helpful tips on my channel. ❤️🙏🎨🎨🎨
Thanks for the tip, pun not intended. I got this masking pen and didn’t realize I can’t read the instructions in that tiny tiny print. I’ve subscribed and turned on all notifications!
@@EvaNichols28 I love the idea of pigment resist from a fabric dyeing class I took ages ago. However, I don’t have actual watercolors, just Graphitint, Inktense, and Dürer Aquarellstifte. I love color very much, but am a very cautious and meticulous creature. I see potential in using this masking fluid to bring a little color to my drawings. I have tubes of gouache but keep looking for a class and there are none where I live. At any rate, if I can figure out whether the masking fluid easily peels off after drying , I might try more watery media. :)
@@kendalchen I think it will work just a well with the Graphitint, Inktense and Dürer Aquarellstifte. Just test it out on a scrap piece of watercolor paper first, to see if it works for you. Have fun experimenting!
Thank you so much for your kind comments. If you can get the pen open by unscrewing the top, you can refill it. You might need a pair of pliers, I found that works great.
Hi Charlotte, thank you so much for your comment and so glad my little tip worked for your Pebeo High Precision Marker pen! Wishing you happy painting and Happy New Year!
Hello Eva, this product is so thin, how do I remove it without damaging my paper? I tried an eraser and it is not working for me. My painting has nine people in it and I outlined them so that I could do the background. This is going to take me a long time to remove the masking with an eraser and I will probably damage my paper. Help!
You need either a rubber cement eraser made to remove masking fluid, or gently rub it off with your dry fingertips. Make sure you don’t have lotion or anything oily on your fingers when you remove it. Good luck and let me how it goes!👍🎨
It can be because of the paper you use, or if you let it sit on your paper for too long, or of it’s exposed to heat or lying in the sun. If you are using cheap paper it can be a problem, or if your paper does not have sizing the masking fluid sinks into the fibers, and can’t be removed. I use 100% cotton paper- usually Arches. You should test it out on a scrap piece of your watercolor paper first, to test if it can be removed. I hope this helps pinpoint your problem. Wishing you a happy, creative day.
Thank you so much for your comments. Yes it’s not for everyone- you can also make your own fine line masking fluid “pen” using a small bottle with a fine tip. When not in use insert a pin 📌 so it doesn’t clog up. Happy painting.🎨
You’re welcome- I’m glad you found this little tip helpful! It’s so frustrating if the pen won’t flow, especially since they are a bit pricey. Wishing you happy painting! ❤️🎨
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to film this short, practical video for those of us unfamiliar with masking pens!

Thank you for the video! My other question is, is the pen refillable with masking fluid? Ty!
