Thanks for the video, I understand the little on the older side, but it is still doing a lot of help. Quick question about what ratio did you mix the plaster with the insulation?
Glad to hear it’s still bringing value! That’s what I love about UA-cam. To be honest, I just eyeball it until it looks like a healthy blend. I would just start 50-50 and adjust accordingly based on how lumpy you want it to be.
Thank you for sharing. Question; If I were to use a similar technique for a Mars terrain, what color pallet should I use? Again, great video. Thank you.
Of course! I just pulled up a couple photos of the Martian surface, and there are two techniques: 1. If it’s just paint, I’d grab a Terra Cotta color palette and use a dark base with a lighter highlight. Examples: cuckoo4design.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/favorite-terracotta-paint-colors-BEHR.jpg 2: You could get a good dirt texture as well by following the exact steps in the video, but then putting down some mod podge or PVA glue, and covering it completely with a dusting of Terra Cotta tile grout. Use a scenic cement style product to seal it down after the fact. Example of the grout: a.co/d/07msIpG
Might make a cool army display diarama
Absolutely 🌖
Looks awesome! 😊
Thanks so much!
Nice build! Would be fantastic for my next zero-G, total vacuum game for BattleTech: Alpha Strike.
Absolutely! If I’m not mistaken, Alpha Strike might actually be what they’re using this for.

Nice and easy build. I wonder if various plastic eggs pushed into modeling compound would form more convincing craters?
That’s a great idea. The shape and availability of them would be a good solution. Definitely more circular than hand sculpting.
