One aircraft carrier is equal to some nations entire Air Force. sending Two is one heck of a statement fortunately the American people have always been supportive of its military and even in times of peace we are able to flex our power in all regions of the world. My godfather told me that he knew the invasion of Iraq was coming before it started simply because the US moved 4 of its aircraft carriers into the region in a short period of time. US is preparing for a fight.

The UK currently has it's carrier deployed on a planned NATO tasking in Northern Europe and it's just returned from the United States. No-one is expecting America to do it all. The US stepped up and said they are Israelis best chum.

It'll replace it when this is over.. Ford is remaining in the Med beside Ike.
before all this kicked off in Israel that was the Plan. Ike would replace Ford, then Ford would return to Norfolk for a quick 2 month Turn around And then Ford would go out on another Deployment.
Now it sounds like Ike will Join Ford in the Eastern Med. and Ford will Stay on Station until 1.) it is relieved by another Carrier group, or 2.) things calm down in the middle east.

Why is everyone saying the IKE strike group is being sent out there because what’s going on now. They have been planned for this deployment for the last 8 months. Stay safe VFA-131. Crazy 20 years ago around this same time I went on deployment on the IKE with my old command.

The US navy has 11 active Navy Carrier strike groups. They’re made of multiple ships in each group. 2 is not alot.
