The way he mentioned his Teamster driver was so awesome - he had a great capacity for comedy - so sad we never got a chance to see him in a comedy feature.
4 years later so I doubt you'll be seeing this, but The Sopranos had the best cast in TV history imo. Characters like Olivia, Chrissy, Richie, Ralfie, Janice, Uncle Jr, and more were so easily hate-able thanks to the talent of the actors portraying them!
Cranston even admitted that he based his entire performance on James' in the Sopranos. There really is no debate about it; whatever your favorite character is in any show probably based their performance on James playing Tony.
Can't believe I've only just seen the first few seasons of Sopranos. It blows Breaking Bad out of the water and I love that show. Undoubtedly the best performance in TV history. Although it's very hard to say whether this is better than the Wire
Breaking bad is a better show but it wouldn't exist without the sopranos. And James was the best actor ever existed. But from a point of view of objective quality, breaking bad is made better
i think you misunderstood my point what i meant was that trump is now fucking an entire country than what was back in 1999 just Bill Clinton f his intern.
Only started watching the sopranos a few months ago for the first time, finished it last week. So ahead of its time and paved the way for modern tv, put the big screen on the small screen. Without James, the sopranos would have been a mistake, what a guy, what an actor.
PoPeYeBIGBOSS I watched it for the first time last week and I can't believe how good it is. I mean everyone on the show is amazing. Makes me miss James even more.
He was age 37 when he did this. Now dead at 51, a very talented lovely man...may he RIP, but also I hope everyone comprehends how quickly it can all be over, and how important it is to live for the moment and make sure those you love, know you love them.
The Sopranos was one of the shows that had you counting down to every new episode, every new season, and trying to figure out where it where the writers and characters were gonna take us next. The greatest drama series ever in my opinion. James Gandolfini brought so much depth to Tony Soprano, and was perfect for the role. The series left us wanting more, and now, so have you Mr. Gandolfini. May you rest in peace, and thank you for all the Sunday nights. You will be missed sir.
This is getting me emotional man. RIP to a powerhouse of an actor and a seemingly amazing human being. The sopranos got me through some very tough times in my life and let me escape into their world, I’ll never forget that. Thanks James
An amazing actor. The Sopranos was and still is the benchmark for quality TV. We live in a golden age for TV drama and for me personally the Sopranos is where it started.
stevenan93 I always wondered why he didn't have an accent. He grew up in North Jersey to 2 Italian parents. He's said that his family spoke mostly Italian in the house when he was a kid. Either way, accent or no accent, he's authentic.
Davide INYOURFACE Ooooooo! i am awake. this fuggin guy ova here breaking my balls!!!! the people he portrayed in the sopranos; actually exist. not the characters but those people do exist
stevenan93 I'm from Caldwell, NJ. Born and raised. This is where the creator of The Sopranos David Chase grew up and where Tony Soprano lived. (Side note: the towns used in the show were the real locations. I used to see the cast and crew filming in town all the time). James Gandolfini is also from NJ. This is how we talk.

Don't forget the gabagool
He was so talented and humble. I have a lot of respect for him; gone too soon... RIP.
That's Kevin Finnerty.
**chuckles**
You have mistaken him for Mr. Petraglia.
Calvin Lala grouper sandwich lol
@@navyguyinva It's Mr. Spears, actually.
Lol. I’m watching that episode now
He can put that Emmy on the shelf space where his Varsity athlete awards should be
Thats a golden globe
Surprised he can hold it with his small hands
He doesn’t have the makings of a varsity athlete
James Gandolfini absolute had the makings of a varsity athlete
The Sopranos ruled television.
Now it rules UA-cam
And changed it forever.
Man, when James thanked his wife for their son, Michael, I got the chills. 22 years later and he's taking the reigns. 👏🏿
Micheal: “im always being ah-q-uesht”
The way he mentioned his Teamster driver was so awesome - he had a great capacity for comedy - so sad we never got a chance to see him in a comedy feature.
@@mitch4527 He would have been great!
Gandolfini’s have been waiting a long time to take the reigns.. that’s why i want it to be you michael
@@mitch4527 Plenty of comedy in the Soprapos
The way he thanked Nancy Marchand the woman who played his mum had so much Tony Soprano in it lol the decisive delivery was great RIP to a great actor

He made it about everyone BESIDES himself, and meanwhile basked in thankfulness and gratitude. A class act and a model for others like me to emulate.
Best performance in TV history. Can you really say otherwise?

@@albygates4263 no it really isn't
@@willhowlett4171 Yes it is, breaking bad is good from the first to the last episode, Sopranos had some issues in S1 especially the pilot
'99 was a better time in this country
So much better in fact, that 1999 was the set year for everyone in the matrix
Why do you want my name lol
true that a president fucking his white house intern is much better than a president fucking an entire country.
i think you misunderstood my point what i meant was that trump is now fucking an entire country than what was back in 1999 just Bill Clinton f his intern.
Jassy Rahal How so? This country is on its death bed. Trump is a small hope.

Jimmy was the definition of a class act.

I miss him so much and he was great as Tony Soprano!
An incredible actor. True Romance was an excellent performance
He seems nervous, and humble
Martin Sheen is an absolute legend.....but James Gandolfini truly deserved this award!!
Usually i'm not a groupie, just have interest for the characters but James Gandolfini always touch my heart. R.I.P James.
He won an award for his role the first year Sopranos came out?
And the won the next year as well, that blows my mind as well, cause I heard of the sopranos but didn't have HBO, till couple years later
Golden Globes recognized the show the whole run, Emmy’s were a little late, didn’t win best show until season 5.
