    The effective nuclear charge for atoms in the same column is effectively the same if one uses the simplified version of zeff = Z-shielding electrons. So F and Cl both have a Zeff of +7. So there should be no Zeff effect? I found the consideration of zeff a bit confusing

    Nice but exceptions of electron affinity are beryllium , magnesium, nitrogen but u said fluorine and chlorine how could it be possible also u didn't explain the units, nature of elements

    you should say incompletely filled rather than half filled cuz half filled means ns^1,np^3, nd^5
