- This video is about the Periodic Trends in Atomic Structure, and discusses in details the electron affinity.
In this video I discuss the trend in electron affinity:
- across a period,
- across a group.
and the exceptions to the trend:
- between Carbon and Nitrogen,
- between Nitrogen and Oxygen,
- between Fluorine and Chlorine.
You can also watch: IONIZATION ENERGY.

Students studying Chemistry at different levels could highly benefit from this video.
you should say incompletely filled rather than half filled cuz half filled means ns^1,np^3, nd^5
Nice but exceptions of electron affinity are beryllium , magnesium, nitrogen but u said fluorine and chlorine how could it be possible also u didn't explain the units, nature of elements
Thank you very much for creating this video lesson. It is very well presented, pace and explained, step by step. I love the graphics and illustrations. It is of high educational quality. Thanks a lot!!!!!!
