Back in the day and many moons ago, my mom and I would go to rummage sales in our area. My father who was a cement mason was laid off work in the winter so we didn't have much. BUT, my mother was a beautiful sewer, and made my wardrobe with rummage items. All my friends thought I had the nicest clothes. Little did they know, Mom never shopped at the department stores! Today, it is so fashionable to go to church sales, rummage sales and to shop vintage. I so appreciate that young people like you enjoy a taste of history. By the way, Mom is still with me.......she just turned 93 and has all her "marbles". Love your channel.

Kathleen Fedrizzi I just wanted to say how wonderful I think it is your mother is 93 and still with it. My grandma is also 93 but has no idea who I am or her two sons. You are blessed cherish every moment and bottle her wisdom. I will purchase all the wisdom I can. Laughing loudly!!! I enjoyed your story so much. Thank you for sharing with all of us.

I love how, with every piece, you share the story behind it...my favourite (and it was hard to choose) is probably the amethyst one, since it’s my birthstone. My Great Aunt Ruth used to wear a heavy, heavy, charm-laden 18 k yellow gold bracelet and I would sit with her as she told me the story behind each charm. When she passed, she left it to me, with a note explaining why it came to me...she loved sitting with me and describing each charm. It never got old, hearing her describe where she got them and why she chose them...love the older jewellery!

I was so completely mezmerised I was sort of left in shock when the video ended! I could watch you talk about jewelry for an hour! I especially love the flapper pieces, it must bring you so much joy to just go through and try on pieces of your beautiful collection even if you're just bored. I know I'd be sorting and rearranging for no reason constantly. Thank you so much for sharing your collection with us!

Selena, I have collected jewelry from childhood as well. My love runs deep for all things gold, silver and pretty ! I had to be creative in collecting because my mother didn't drive or thrift shop so I used to bargain/work for elderly neighbors that would reward me with things I loved rather than money :) Those pieces are the most precious to me now because of the memories they hold of dear neighbors and a little girl long since gone....

    i bought a solitaire diamond
    ring 1/2k for $2.00 at a
    garage sale many years ago.
I even went up the man and
said i'm pretty sure this is a
    mistake. No, she left, you
    want it? $2.00. Best deal
    ever!! God bless

I love jewelry! I even began making my own due to this passion. One way to display vintage rhinestone pins is to put them on a pretty pillow and display it on a chair or couch. I have mini mannequins I also display earrings and necklaces on. To me, jewelry is like art and needs to be displayed. I have decorative bowls filled with pearl necklaces. Vases with bangles layered on, etc. I put necklaces on tree type displays but then put the display on a inexpensive lazy susan in order to spin it to the one I want to retrieve. I spray paint the plastic lazy susans to match the display. I feel like you that many of the pieces are just too pretty to hide in a drawer. I also pair up necklaces and bracelets with outfits I have hanging. It's a fun thing to do when I have the spare time and all you have to do is reach in, grab the hanger and you have an accessorize outfit ready to go. Some of your cherub babies would look cute adorned in a few gems! 😉

My nine year, old grandson loves jewelry. One of his favorite things to do at my house is to rummage in my jewelry boxes. For his birthday last year he wanted a necklace with a dollar sign on it, like a rapper would wear. I didn’t have any idea where he had even seen that look. I was able to find him a stainless steel chain and a plain dollar sigh (no diamonds) . He loved it! His eight year old cousin got a stainless steel chain with a football charm, with his number on it. It amazes me to see little boys obsessed with bling! These are not girly boys. They are plenty rough and tumble. I am on the hunt now for more jewelry, and possible jewelry boxes for them for their birthdays in the fall. Your pretty stuff if not for them, but they would love to touch it and find out the history of each piece. Thank you for sharing.

I love vintage broaches. I have a porcelain half doll with a body I can stick broaches into. It was my grandmothers from the 20s. My daughter collects them , broaches, as well and puts them on her knitted beanies she wears in the winter. We both check out pins and broaches the women wore in the old 40s movies. When they wear several at once, my granny said those were called "scatter pins" . I am a bracelet junky as well.

I love buying jewelry for gifts.
And what l focus on are Brooches.
Each lady has her "colors" and her own style, which l try my best to follow when selecting a gift for a friend or family member. They also are, of course, all different sizes.
I love vintage jewelry, Cameos from
Italy, gold set with pearls, coral, and sparkling stones. Stick pins are great additions for a smaller lady, and bigger ladies can be flattered with larger stones and designs in brooches.
They are special, they add a
"Finishing touch" to whatever she is wearing, and adds to her feminity.
Something l only just learned was that Brooches were very popular during WWII. Because of rationing, and there being a lack of fabric.
Women would change the brooch on the same dress, to give it a "new look!"
    Love your enthusiasm & collection.
Keep finding your great finds, and try looking for Brooches, to change your own look! You could create a new market! Congratulations!

I love your jewelry. I like anything that catches my eye. I found the most incredible mobay pearl earrings at an antique store in Los Gatos, Ca over 30 years ago. They were huge n 14k gold scroll work with screw backs. I paid $100 for them probably because they were screw backs. My mom was used to wearing screw backs from the 1940’s so she didn’t convert them. I asked her to give them to my oldest daughter as she can’t have pierced ears due to an autoimmune disorder that makes her ears swell n get nasty from the alloy that used even in gold earrings. My mother wore them for years n just a few months before her death she gave each of my 3 girls some of the jewelry I gave her over the years. I was very, very generous with my mom and she absolutely loved everything I ever gave her. Now my daughters are enjoying them. I also scored a pair of antique earrings again, another time, in Los Gatos (lots of antique stores there). They are 14k gold with moonstones in the center. They are surrounded by the most beautiful color of of perfectly matched sapphires in a circle. They had screw backs but I had to have them. $100 well spent. I took them everywhere to be converted to pierced with each jeweler saying “no way”. Today with lasers it would be super easy. This was around 1982. I even took them to Tiffany in Beverly Hills as I lived in LA at the time. Their head jeweler asked where I got them. I said an antique store in No Cal. He said they were stunning. The gold work was amazing n the sapphires we’re probably from Ceylon/ Sri Lanka as their color was indicative of sapphires from there n they were perfectly matched. He said to make them for pierced ears would ruin the stone setting and to leave them alone. I did find a jeweler that figured out a way to make them for pierced ears. I saved the screw backs in case my one daughter wanted them later on. They are my favorite earrings as I love the old world gold work n the sapphires are a stunning color. The center stone being a moonstone made the jeweler at Tiffany, plus the gold work n Indian sapphires made him think they were probably 1940’s. He really loved the earrings n admired them as only a true artist could. He asked how much I had paid n his mouth dropped when said $100! I knew I got a deal already but seeing the look on the Tiffany jewelers face spoke volumes. Score!!!!!

Hello. I love your videos on the jewelry. I am a goldsmith myself, and collecting mostly costume jewelry myself. Commenting on the “Penny Dreadful” necklace. I think it is Victorian revival jewelery from the 1940s or 50s. It is made from a copper alloy, casted in a mold (hence the textured back) the color layer on it is probably a sort of gold “chrome”. The pearls are mostly glas beads with a “pearl “ layer. The chain imitates mens watch chains in the victorian era. 😁🙋🏻‍♀️

I tend to like a mix of high and low, ie; rhinestones and old tarnished silver, turquoise with gemstones....everything as tarnished and worn as possible without looking like it should be retired. I always love a vintage brooch of rhinestones, to wear with leather and or denim and silk and velvet.

I love your milk glass necklace. I didn’t realize until recently that my bracelets from my grandmother were milk glass. I ordered a long milk glass necklace off eBay recently. My grandsons girlfriend like milk glass so that sent me on a quest. You and Laura rekindled my love of turquoise so I made a box of all my turquoise. My granddaughters were born in December so one day they will have them. Murano glass is my ultimate favorite along with anything Italian. I recently purchased an original Chanel necklace and earrings at auction for $200. And they are valued at $1400. I have my grandmother’s Austrian jewelry box bought on the black market in the 1940’s. It has a note saying it belonged to one of the royal princesses. Of course they were executed so I’ll never know but I love it. I recently purchased your amber cuff (Oct 21) and I love it. It matches my antique necklace, ring and earrings. Enjoy your videos so much.

Really wonderful finds! My grandmother started sharing her vintage jewelry with me in the late 1970s and an obsession was born. Tfs❤ The milkglass necklace is fabulous. It is bloodstone jasper.

    Hi..
Watch you don't buy a piece of jewellery that's cursed or gives you bad luck
That's what I worry about, who had it last !.🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️🧙‍♀️
Love your voice, and your giggle 😊

I absolutely love your jewelry collection, you are so talented and informative with your treasures :) By the way, the last piece looks like Egyptian revival with the lotus plants on it. Hope you are doing well during the quarantine. Stay well, blessing, Katharine xo

I love your vintage jewelry collection! You are drawn to the garnet and the smokey quartz because they are grounding and clearing stones. The garnet will ground you and the smokey quartz will protect you and clear negative energy. Trust those vibes girl! ❤️

Loved seeing your collection! Thank you. I collect and wear Czech Glass, Bakelite and all stones and gems. Grew up a jewelry girl too. Parents were "rock hounds" and made jewelry. It's in the blood. My daughter is the same. ❤️❤️❤️
