E Mobbin’ Through L.A. on the new SUPER73-ZX ⚡️

Low 80s, plenty of sunshine, good vibes and FUN! A perfect day in the City of Angels and specifically at the Petersen Automotive Museum which was the perfect setting for the launch of Super73’s latest e-bike, the ZX.
For any automotive enthusiast, the Petersen is a must. It’s one of the largest automotive museums in the world and has over 100 vehicles on display in various galleries. Upon arriving, the Super73 crew took everyone on a private tour and we even caught a glimpse of their latest exhibit, Bond In Motion: Official Collection of Original James Bond Vehicles.
Along the tour were several SUPER73 custom bikes on display which included the latest collaborations from partnerships with Hot Wheels, Roland Sands Design, the Paris Saint-Germain soccer club, and more. This is also where they gave a sneak peek at two SUPER73-ZX prototypes before we took to the streets to test them out.
The SUPER73 design team went back to the drawing board to reimagine and reengineer one of its original products, the SUPER73-Z1. The result is their brand new SUPER73-ZX that features a lighter aluminum-alloy frame, allowing for greater range from the now removable battery and a larger frame. With a 31” seat height, adjustable handlebars, and a 325 lb weight limit rating, the SUPER73-ZX is designed to comfortably accommodate riders between 5’1” to 6’8”.
Powered by a state-of-the-art 615 watt-hour removable battery and a brand new motor capable of outputting up to 1350 watts of peak power, the ZX provides an estimated 30+ miles of range at 20mph when using throttle only operation, and an estimated 50+ miles of range using the adjustable ECO pedal assist mode ( results can vary depending upon conditions such as rider weight, speed, temperature, wind, tire pressure, terrain, incline, etc.).
Once the tour concluded, the Super 73 team prepped us on all the controls of the new ZX (which was easy peasy) and then unleashed the group on the streets of L.A. It literally is just like riding a bike except with a throttle which is intuitive and second nature. The learning curve for riding one would be a lap around the parking lot for most people. The feeling of riding the SUPER73-ZX is a mixture of a BMX and motorcycle with the pedal-assist feature being easily adjustable to the amount of effort you want to put in for pedaling. The ZX is a Class 2 street-legal electric bike which means riders as young as 16 can ride legally on city streets. The ability to go from street to sidewalk makes riding it one of the funnest parts.
Mobbing with a big group of editors and the Super 73 crew was definitely good times. The freedom of being on a two-wheeler and being able to switch from using all throttle to assisted pedaling through L.A. streets was a great way to experience all the capabilities of these bikes. The quick acceleration and sharp maneuverability and control made the SUPER73-ZX feel right at home when zipping through traffic, neighborhoods and everything in between. One word that describes riding the ZX is “FUN”!
