This woman inspires me to say the hell with my anorexia and start living my best life
That's amazing! I salute you, great job!
I feel this
Good for you! You found your inspiration! I ❤️ Tia!
Yassss yasss yasss amazing you🥰🙌🎉🎊👑
Yassss you got this 😁
I love how she said she tries to hit 2500 but if she’s satisfied she doesn’t over eat. She listens to her body, THANK YOUUUU 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I went so many years with pressure from my coaches to hit my numbers exactly and most of the time I was forcing myself to eat when I was already so full. This makes me feel better about listening to my body instead of stuffing myself to hit my macros exactly!
Amen!!!! 🙌🏼🙏🏼
Depending on your goals and genetic makeup, putting on muscle mass sometimes requires "over eating." If your macros are in check, adding calories to your diet can have a huge impact on your ability to achieve strength oriented goals. Tia is a world class athlete who has her body and diet figured out, and her eating habits may not apply to you. Then again they might. I would venture to guess that, considering how strong she is, she has periods of strength specific training in which she consumes more calories.
And this is all considering that she is throwing cardio into the mix as well.
THIS
...? Eat more calorie dense foods then. No need to overeat.
The QUEEN OF CONTENT RIGHT HERE. She is going to take over
FORREALLL
Here watching after seeing her amazing comeback on the leader board congrats Tia 🙌💪💪
Tia, I started crossfit this year, after 40 years old. Thanks for shearing your diet and your life with us to inspire people around the world to get a health life. Kisses from Brazil ♡
I am 42 getting into it. Do you remember being 25 and never could imagine being in your 40s. Dang time flies...
@@mommymj9529 Yes kkkkkk
I’m 39 and just about to start out too!! Go ladies ❤️🙏🏽💪🏼
7:27 love that Shane whispers “sixty two” to Tia while she adds her salad dressing
He is a really good Coach 😀
😂😂😂
Can you maybe make a video that covers how you've learned to care for your body via mobilization, streaching, and other precautions you take to avoid injury.
Quality of this channel is unreal compared to what it used to be! Was happy to see when you guys used to post. Now this channel is my TOP! LFG!!!
Much appreciated!
Tia, I absolutely love your message at the end about the ultimate goal: to ultimately live a long & healthy life.
Working with primarily elderly clients, I hear this pretty often: "I don't care how I look, I just want to feel good." Isn't that something? From such a young age, most people infer that the goal is to "look good". And during that period, we lose sight of how to "feel good".
For the most part, people have a backwards mentality of how aesthetics & nutrition intertwine. If you're chasing solely aesthetics, most likely you are sacrificing some of your health. If you are chasing health, aesthetics is merely a byproduct.
Great video Tia, I absolutely love your vlogs!
Lee Pinkham I’ve worked out my entire life because health and fitness is a lifestyle for me. There are so many young people now adopting fitness for aesthetics only. Is it the advent of technology that created this? What has happened? Not everyone is like this, but there are many. Feeling good is one of the best byproducts and it becomes paramount as we get older. It’s nice to see someone at her level being insightful and balanced and sending a great message why we do this.
I'd say tech and social media is a big part of it. Plus the current mentality of things. Not much substance underneath the cloak of the exterior.
I really thought, considering the amount of work Tia does she would be eating a lot more. I walk back and forth to the fridge from my desk and I need more than 2500 calories for that. 6 hours in the gym I might be eating a thousand calories per hour.
Strength training doesn't burn many calories. Around 300 calories, if you are training intensively.
@@olegnovitski6987 Crossfit workouts are more than just strength but even strength would require more than 300 calories for as little as 2 hours of doing it let alone 6 that the top level athletes would be spending in the gym I think
@@voiceinmyhead1731 Yes, my bad. If her diet is 2500 kcals/day, then she burns way less than 300 kcals/h while working out.
People always think exercise burns much more calories than it actually does. She’s also short, which means she would burn much less than a taller athlete like me. I can’t tell anything about you from your pic but you’re probably a different height, weight, age and possibly gender which all has a huge effect on TDEE or calorie expenditure.
@@sportybeth Yeah I am 200+ pounds if you are American, 94kg in South Africa, and I eat a lot more. I know she's smaller and that explains a lot but I thought it would be more. I am not saying I was right by the way, I heard Mat Fraser say he gets 6000 calories in season and it might have inflated my expectation.
It's incredible that someone with her performance and her volume of training can eat so few calories and also have that amazing physique. I would have expected that she eats above 3000 thousand calories/day.. what a surprise.. the human body and different genetics make a huge impact
She is short though. And exercise doesn’t burn as much calories as people think.
@@sportybeth maybe..but if you train 4 to 6 hours/day..believe me..you are going to burn a bunch of them
Phuck Boi yes she does, highly doubt she’s a genetic freak.
@@Dee-ye2dk She takes steroids!? Are you sure? This is very disappointing to hear : (
Olive of course she’s on gear. Do you really think that body is obtainable whole doing loads of cardio, weight training, plus strict eating?
🔥The best advice on UA-cam was right in this video whenever, Toomey said you really need to listen to your body instead of just following a program that doesn’t feel right. 💯
I was side eyeing her when she was measuring out lettuce, but her having Chipotle made her seem real. 🤣🥰
Here we have the fittest woman on earth eating 134g of Protein (with the protein bar i'm guessing it's gonna be around 154g).
This is with five hours of training under her belt. So no, dear fitfluencers. I do not think you need 200g of protein for your 90 minutes of training a day ;)
She competes at 128lbs ... she's eating quite a bit over 1g/lb body weight. That's a lot of protein.
It’s a good amount. She needs to hold onto that muscle and protein requirements for athletes can be higher depending on the sport
Appleblade she doesn’t compete at that weight, that is weight lifting.
@@yelisserobles5371 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tia-Clair_Toomey
Appleblade yes, when she competed in weight lifting. If you watch the invitational she is listed at 135lbs.
CEO of “fueling the body”
Lack there of lol. Amazing how she performs with such little calories
She is to 'fueling the body' as Eddie Hall is to 'dehydration'.
Great insight at the end of the video. I often get caught up with hitting specific macros/training the 'right' way without taking into account how my body is responding. Will definitely change that, great video as always!
Glad it was helpful!
Love your simple approach to nutrition. You hit your macros without obsessing over it and most importantly listen to your body. Love it.
Love her coffee cup at 0:20
I am Groot. Lol :D
Thank you for this video!
It's so easy to get confused with nutrition and I am in stage feeling very muddled. Your reminder to listen to your body for what's right for you is what we need to hear more often.
Love seeing a woman who can eat! People need to see more of this- that when you're active (especially vigorously active) you need to be eating a lot more than 1800calories a day!!!! 2,000 should be the starting point- You won't get fat! You will be energized, strong, healthy, with healthy skin, hair and nails and a much better mood throughout the day
Most women don’t need to eat that much, as we don’t train as much as she does. I eat 1600-1800 calories per day I train 2 hrs on 2 weekdays and I eat 2200 calories on sat and Sunday I train 3-4 hrs on sat or Sunday. I only eat 1400-1500 on the days I don’t train. And I’m shredded. We don’t need to eat soo much.
Such a nice video. There is no disturbing music underground. Pure information .Thank you . Love it !
Loved the whispering: "sixty twoooo..." 😂😂😂
Best video I have seen in a while. She hit it so spot on listen to your body. I lost 120lbs in 9 month keto IF and running. My protein was so low I lost all my hair. Still do keto but my body needs almost 200g of protein so my hair won't fall out. We are all so different.
This was so neat ! & Straight forward , loved how you kept things simple tia , thank you! 😁
Im just all 4 WOMEN POWER!! Im so inspired & motivated just by watching these women all compete. It's so freakin Amazing!!! I watch cross-fit when i workout & she is a Beast!! C'ing her & Matt do competes 2gether is just great. Keep up the tough work..Women Rule!! 💪💪❤❤💃💃🤸🤸🤗🤗
As Crossfit athlete and previously triathlete, 51 Yr old now I appreciate these tips a lot! Thanks for your awesome vid, including the previous one about running day session!
This was really excellent in summary/content and inspiring. Thanks, Tia! A great reminder that carbs are key for performance and that planning ahead is how you hit macros without agony.
Wow, I could not imagine doing this everyday. Amazing dedication.
it's not even that bad, just meal prep.
Great video-fun to see how you eat to fuel your body, and do what's best for you. Everyone has different needs and should focus on what works best for them. It's taken me a long time to figure it out, but always working on fueling my own body with all the best micro and macros.
Don’t remember a time in my life where I’ve had 475cals left at the end of the day 😂😅😅
Woooww such a great inspiration. I want to get to that level one day ♥️
You can do it!
Yesss indeed a great inspiration..
I'd love to get to that level too one day...
Tia 🌹 All the best always
Hi Tia I really find your voice relaxing can listening to you all-day thank you
You are so welcome
Love this Tia - really good to see how you do it and has made me realise that what I am doing is similar to yourself - thank you for this. Great channel, keep inspiring!
Sharing is caring 🙂 Thankyou for consistently providing us with content that improves our knowledge and understanding of health/fitness 👍👍
Wow with all those training hours and eating less than 2,500 calories 😱 .
How does that work? I think with all those training hours I will be starving constantly and also with all that muscle mass ...
Enjoying your videos 👌🏼💪🏼🥗🌮!!!
Silvia España I had the same thought! Calories seemed low to me for how much training she does and how much muscle she has
right? I was shocked too, that explains why I will never get shredded lol
2500 calories +steroids
@@adamklop4181 Do you really think she uses steroids? Someone like her gets through doing doping tests, mostly for competitions!

can we please get Mat to make a channel like yours Tia! people would love it!
I love this! I am new to CrossFit and fitness in General, I have been on this whole weight loss journey, and nutrition has been a huge part of my journey. I have been doing Keto and IF, and am now being told I need to consume more protein to support muscle growth and training, which I'm now trying to do. However I feel like everyone is trying to sell me some product or some diet, or shake; I am looking for a life long change, not a crash diet! It's been really frustrating!
Seeing what you actually eat (and You're about as elite as elite gets). Gosh it's such an encouragement and relief!
You are at the very top of your game and you relatively eat like a normal sensible healthy person! no gazillion protein powder, or 5k calorie meal plan. Just good ole regular food!
Thank you so much Tia and Shane!
amazing! thank you for sharing these knowledge
Glad you enjoyed it!
This was an awesome compromise, after shane mentioned you couldn't have detailed workouts I totally got it. This was awesome!
If I didn't have rheumatoid arthritis I would try crossfit training. Wish you the best Tia, thank you for being an inspiration to women everywhere! 😇❤
Glad I have post notifications on🙌
I am so insanely inspired by you! I’ve been working out consistently for a month and eating better . Starting at 5’4” 230 lbs. I love the feeling after a hard workout and strive to be a badass like you. Even a fourth of you. 😀❤️
6 months later, how has your progress been?
I love this video because you not only show what you eat but also reasoning behind it so viewers have information in context.
I especially loved the end of the video where you mentioned that you have still more calories left based on recommendations but if it would make you feel suboptimal, you don't stress it 👍
Just think, hitting your macros and calories can make you feel bad, slow digestion, bloated, and then your body does not care how much protein you feed it if it does not get digested.
You are different than others. Always smile on your face.and your attitude is awesome. thanks for for suggestions and tips to inspire. Best of luck.
At 7:25 Shane whispering “ sixty two grams” 😂😂
Tia, soy nueva haciendo ejercicio, casi tengo 38 años y me encanta todo lo que haces, ojalá que tu información estuviera en español para poder entender todo, saludos desde Honduras.
Awesome! I’ve been so looking forward to this video. Hugs from Maryland ❤️
Gold content in this video and certainly learned allot from it. Thank you so much Tia! 👏🏾🙌🏾💪🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Love that your doing videos more often now its nice to get an insight to your training and nutrition!
Thank you for emphasizing the importance of listening to your body!
I am so happy you have put this video together as I get a lot of stick for the amount of food I eat (I eat a lot more than my friends and work colleagues) and it’s hard to explain to people that you need a lot of good healthy fuel! 👍😍
It was very refreshing to see an elite athlete break down their nutrition in the way you did. From getting my Bachelors in Nutrition, what was relieving to hear was your awareness of proteins and carbs. You didn't go overboard on your protein, which many do. Carbs are really your friend, and you show a healthy relationship with them. What I would like to know is regarding the vitamin supplementation. Out of curiosity and learning, did you go to a dietitian or have blood-work done to see if your body was lacking vitamins/minerals? The general public is sold on the idea that they need them without having any evidence of needing them. But as a professional athlete, it is a different story. Overall, thank you for sharing your part of your day with us, it was well done!
You are so inspiring. I love watching you compete at the CrossFit Games. Congrats on the win today. You are unreal.
I'm just over here not even able to have s protein shake before a workout or I'll puke. In all seriousness, what an athlete! I love her so much.
Love your content, really inspirational. 👍😄
Glad you enjoy it!
Do you mostly front load your carbs in the morning? Meaning do you eat the bulk of your carbs in the morning? Thanks again for always putting out such great content. I look forward to these videos weekly!
I’m 19, female and built exactly like her, might have found my new favourite fitness junkie
Loved this video and found it so interesting to see what you eat on a daily basis! I was wondering, how often do you havs a "Cheat meal", and what's your go to treat?
Can you or Shane talk more about recovery or recovery methods after training?
I could not click fast enough! I have been looking forward to one of these from you and got some good info. Also I am now craving that exact salad...
Thanks for taking the time to share this!
Anyone else notice how much guacamole was ok that bowl 😱😂 I’m tipping it was closer to 900 cals for that meal
Haha yeah even by her own calorie estimate it added up to 890, but for dinner she only had 705 on her chart. So it was 2361, not 2176 total for the day.
You're such an inspiration! Love your videos Tia!.. and Shane too haha
Thank you for your mention on UA-cam. I am working on my nutrition still struggle love BBQ where I grew up country. I need burn fatty I will join CrossFit next week because of my age get older close 50’s. I used play rugby 12 years till retired in 2006. One more day to go.
Awesome. So glad this summer people are telling us their calories. So annoying when they only give us their macros. Also a lot of people are trying to lose weight and need to understand that calories are more important than macros when try to lose weight.
Would be great to know why you take each supplement/vitamin/minerals, what the benefit is to supplement with for example Zinc :)
Noted!
How can you train so much and so hard on so little calories?
Chipotle is often more calories in what they serve you vs. what is in their tracker. Portions > serving sizes.
Hi im from kenya and I love you so much. You are such an inspiration

I m french and I love seeing your training but i m very surprised because I thought you eat much more. You are so strong and dynamic, I thought you eat 3000 cal a day! And I m a bit ashamed because I eat 2400 cal a day and I could eat much more! Thank you for the video 😘😘
I loved it!!!
Love you Tia, greeting from Mexico😍😍
Thank you so much!!
can you do a video about your mentality / how you stay mentally strong ? would love to hear more about your thinking.
Super insightful! Would love to hear more about what types of fat you focs on eating and how you keep them relatively low, but also why they are important. I think this is a problem for a lot of people, eating too much fat and not the right kind. Thanks!
I love 1st Phorm products! It's so cool to see that you are using their products now. You should try making the mud cakes with Level-1 protein for a night time snack! DELICIOUS.

Fuel for fire!
Thank you 🥰💐💕✨
Good on you ! Your lucky ! Your Australian and thats a winner ! Go win mate!!
It doesn’t add up. The recommended daily calories for woman is 2000 on average, and that’s for someone who is not working out. An athlete like Tia spending 4-6 hours a day working out will need about 100-200/hr just to sustain the workout. So you’d reasonably expect someone like her to need a minimum of 2600/day and more likely 3000-3200.
That’s such a generic recommendation, it doesn’t mean much at all. I’m a shorter female and it’s recommended I eat 1700 to maintain which I don’t hit very often and have no trouble maintaining my weight
for a natural athlet yes
for the pro ...........
2500 just for a active menstruating female. and the CF athletes who truly eat to perform ARE consuming around 3500 calories. This is not her eating to "fuel her body" like she says about 500 times. There is no way you aren't trying to maintain a certain look on this type of restriction.
@@daniellekepics5999
a natural metabolize 30% ABOUT
WITH THE DOPING PROTOCOL you metabolize until 80% (some get to eat mc do and to have 8% OF BODY FAT)
1400 for for she (I save you the calculations but it takes into account its size and weight and age) ==> possibly the place (extreme cold or intense hot)
it is for the mb= for tia clair 1400
mb it is the 0 activity just for basic bodily functions (coeur , digestion , brain)
after for a dej
mb x 1.37 for a sedentary (+ou - 2000 FOR A 90% OF WOMEN)
x 1.55 for actif
1.8 for a big athletic
therefore 2650 if natural with a normal metabolism
as in addition it is strength it must have an even higher mb (marathon runner and powerlift are not at all the same thing)
tia clair most likely to exceed 2650
but with the doping it changes everything ((as indicated above)
therefore yes for a natural athlet is totally impossible
but hey it's like on a bike where the guys all have a hematocrit level that that doped people cannot exceed
the problem of cheater
Danielle Kepics I agree
Sou seu fã Tia-Clair Toomey .
Abração aqui do Brasil 😉👍🏽
Wow,I hope you are taking joint supplements too! Collagen, glucosamine,MSM and hyaluronic acid would be a great combo to protect your joints!

1 meal every 24 hours at 230 pounds. 2 apples, 1 salmon fillet, brocolli, carrots, mushroom, onions, and potatoes. 355lbs to 230lbs
I have oat and peanut butter too, but I dont have the body she has. Love your channel, Tia
Love this woman so inspirational😍💪🏻🙌
Thank you for the video, Tia! So these 2,500 calories is just about maintaining your body weight and fuelling your body with enough energy for your training routine. But I´m curios, maybe you can still remember how much calories did you eat when you just started with Crossfit and obviously needed a lot of additional protein and calories in order to build your muscles up?And how much time did it take to you to come to your current shape, maybe a year or two?
She started CrossFit in 2013 from what info I can find online... I would say everything she’s done since then has brought her to where she is now regarding her physique.
I LOVE YOU, your such an inspiration to me. I look up to you every single day thinking wow she is gorgeous and I want to be like her one day💖💖
Hi tia
How are you ???
Hope you great champ
It’s amazing video I like your tips
Just wanna know what’s your macronutrients when you are preparing for the open or to the games is there is a difference ??
Thanks 😊
W8 a second did i understand this right, you say that you are eating less than 2500 calories, 2200 to be precise and ur training 5-6 hours of intense crossfit training ? Riiiight.
again. finally some sanity here. I CANNOT WITH THIS.
She nowhere said, she would work out 5-6 hours. She said, she is in the gym for 5-6hours. Perhaps she gives some classes or works there otherwise. Or just enjoys being there ;) Strength training burns trough a lot calories, after workout. She safely has some other nutrients, she is notvtalking about in her vids ;)
Always inspiring 😀thanks for sharing!
the champ is here
Interesting insight Tia and who is the coach in Aus helping you out? Would be great for us and them to know who is helping the worlds best. :)
Hi Tia, what’s your take on a splurge once a week if you are training hard? I’m talking a piece of pie or a chocolate bar, a real treat. Or should one stick to protein bars only? Thanks for your reply.
Everything in moderation 🙌🏻 I do 80/20 rule so 80% healthy whole foods 20% naughty stuff so that equates to about one snack a day which is usually chocolate for me.
4-6 hrs at the gym! That’s an intense gym session! Get it!
