I was not able to do anything vs this superlight Renault clio Rs drove by one very fast racing driver @emirAsari
We were both on same tires michelin Ps4 S, both experienced drivers in Nurburgring NLS endurance racing, but at the end the 1100kgs weight difference just spoke 🙏🏻
He were something like…..30s quicker per lap 🤣🤣
This Renault is an Awesome car for these conditions 🤩
Be rassured EV’s guys, on dry weather same tires it would have been a different story 😇

French chassis? Look at tesla’s speedo… 90-100km h 😂… why should someone push a heavy car like that with more than 1000 hp in the fuckin wet ? Even my audi a3 1.9tdi 105cv wuould have smoked the plaid.. if you crash the clio, no terrible loss.. tesla is a little bit more expensive..

Those steering wheels look so dangerous. Look how awkward your wrists are when you turn hard... I could see a lot of people crashing because they could not turn far enough or they lose their grip trying to grab a different part of the wheel.
The other option they were thinking about was a mouse with a mousepad on the dashboard, optionally relocatable with suction cups to the ceiling or side window. ...and a QWERTY keyboard with the letters A and D for steering and W Z for acceleration, deceleration in their less expensive basic models.

Alors par contre, vraiment juste le mec fait attention avec la Tesla c'est tout, ne t'en fais pas que s'il a envie de le faire passer dans le retro il le fera xD Juste que là par temps de pluie aussi il roule vraiment doucement mais si tu regarde les vidéo de Tesla, où la Model S Plaid justement est mise sur le circuit, elle le fait largement plus vite (elle avait justement eu le record durant un moment)
@@teslaman0 faut garder en tête que la Tesla est une quatre roues motrice et la clio une traction donc logiquement la Tesla devrait être plus abile. La vidéo montre juste que la faiblesse de la Plaid sous la pluie a cause de son poids

Car weight works for you when you can use it to charge the tyres. For this you need dry conditions and slow corners. Exactly the opposite of the wet Nordschleife situation that we see here.

Heavy rain with heavy car: Clio will out corner it; different story when it is dry. Tesla plaid brakes not designed for race track use- Carbon ceramic is game changer for track use.
Oh yeah you are going to feel that weight in the corners.....

I am really curious about your thoughts on the Plaid's brakes. They appear to be holding up, but numerous online reviewers complain about them being very underpowered. Awesome videos! I am really enjoying your content.
Change pads and fluid and it is ok on street/sporty use
Track you need to change the disc and also removing the dust shield front and rear for better cooling
@@sebastianvittel74 Don't forget to mention to use a Dot 3 Brake Fluid instead of the Fabric original Dot2, the Dot3 fluid has a higher boiling point, that means that it will resist more heat and you're less likely to feel the fatigue in your brakes, and it may last longer, depends on your driving style.
Just wait for the carbon brakes, these performance brakes should be available from Tesla soon. An upgrade with good Brembo brakes is of course also possible.

ETA: Ah, just read they were Michelin Pilot Sport S4. Better but still kind of what I thought they might be. Surprised that the Clio was on same rubber, but narrower section of course, and as you say, a ton lighter!
The plaid looks so sketchy with that steering wheel, heavy curb weight, and horrific brakes.

The Clio has surface grip and guts to race in the wet. Just look at the speed, not too high.
The Clio is also over 1000kg lighter which makes a huge difference. You can have >1000hp but if you're driving a boat it doesn't matter so much especially in technical tracks without a lot of straights

Ich verstehe es nicht (nicht nur weil es langsam voran geht, sondern auch weil die "Chance" sehr groß ist, sich einen sehr teuren Blechschaden einzufangen, durch den das Vergnügen dann auch noch abrupt vorbei ist).

The plaid is clearly an extraordinary car and I suspect it's phenomenally fast but it just lacks the drama of an ICE car. 😣🤷🏻♂️
