Fuck man this is so nostalgic, I remember watching this back in 2010 when I was learning to play drums. Crazy to think that was almost 10 years ago, still such a solid video even today.

I like this drummer. He doesn't showboat like a pratt (like most other UA-cam 'Drummers') and he gets the job done well.
And he's actually doing a cover like it says, most other UA-cam covers are interpretations rather than a cover (play it how it is).

My god such a Classic UA-cam video. I played JoS the first time in a school gig. At that time I was only been playing for months and we've played like shit (but everyone liked it) . I remember watching your video amazed by your precision and faithfulness. 10 years later, now I'm going to play it again in a local show here in Naples, Italy and it's gonna be full of friends. You play great, but one tip. It's a cover, your supposed to make the song your own. I noticed that you played exactly what Tre Cool plays in the song. Try to add some cool fills or something into the song so that it's not just a green day song, it's your song. Good job btw

If I could wake up one day and be able to play this song, I could probably die happy. However, I'm self taught and cut a few too many corners in order to just 'play along' to stuff I like, so this one is fairly technical for my ability and I fear its going to beat me. Great job!!!!

What Chezmix said is wrong. Just work on getting your doubles right and single strokes very fast and you'll be fine.
+Rowin Slag uhh no. It's impossible to do single strokes THAT fast. A roll is always done by holding the sticks loosely and banging them against the drum so they bounce but not too loosely or else they'll bounce too fast. Have you even played a drum before? Cause if you can do single strokes THAT fast I praise you for being super human
+Chezmix I have covered this song numerous times with several bands and I can play the whole song with single strokes just as fast.

You guys might not believe this, but Tre Cool had his drums setup this way back in 1992. Yes, white in color, two floor toms, and one rack tom. It disappeared through-out the Dookie days to the Warning era where some people would think his standard drumset in 1994 went into transitional changes after Insomniac and finally turning into what it looks like now.
It then makes a comeback in 2004 with the American Idiot album with a Crash Ride, and a China Cymbal.
I'd love to have the set.
