One of the Greats of thrash Metal for sure!!!! I write out structure sheets too learned it from one of my Drum teachers a long time ago. Excellent for just hearing it one time!!!!!
Just relistened to this - the guy’s really nailing it - without hearing the original drum part, he’s doing a great job - good feel, sounds natural - nice work!
I think i like Dirk´s version more, although he halftimed the verse, the chorus and the ending part, specially with the double kick, was for me way better than the original,
Long time Megadeth fan from day 1! I love all kinds of music! I still have my ipod touch and load it with everything! I have seen Megadeth live in Indianapolis at the Indiana Convention Center in 1995. He's good!! 🤘
wow - that is a nice take on being transformative with the original content. fair use all the way. Nice to see someone not just sitting, making minimal commentary and overall just adding a bunch to the original video. Great job dude - this does not suck at all.
Gotta disagree o. The speeding the tempo. Doing that would match the original, kklling the more morose tone Dirks playing gives the song. I think it matches the song better.
I kinda like some of the half time stuff he did. It could be a cool alternate version if he cleaned it up for sure. But yea, lots of different ways to make this song sound good
5:00 True. A break is induced by the voice eq. But it's so easy to fix in edit that, in doubt, a seasoned session musician might play it anyway, just in case.
He looks like such a geek. I say this affectionately: geeks take what they do seriously a enjoy doing it at a level that "outsiders" often don't get. His drumming is really "melodic" (for lack of a better word) relative to the original track. Both work, but they are emotionally different. Awesome.
I’m actually pretty surprised that he didn’t pick up on the fact that the whole song was meant to be full time after realizing the chorus was full time. Especially with the 16th notes on the guitar keeping the pace during the verses. Interesting take though, props to him for putting himself out there!
i think you are able to hear he is a metal drummer but it still sounds great ^^ btw. i love the fact he still uses two bass drums for double bass action ^^
Definitely cool to see his take. Pretty far from the original to be honest, there was only like a few bars where he took the same path as the actual song during the chorus where he kept it simple
Have I seen them live was the question. Many times. Megadeth has always had top notch musicians. Drummers in the band have come and gone. Two stand out to me: Nick and Dirk. Well done Dirk! You da man!
Dirk is so chill such an amazing drummer and cool guy. Matched up with James Lomenzo in Megadeth is perfect both guys are so incredibly chill, professional and good people. Dave is lucky to have them. I love Dirks version a lot
Hell of a kit he has. I suppose as he plays a lot of 80's/90's metal, he needs the full 80's beast, one of everything in the catalogue. And a few twos!
I've been a Megadeth fan since the So Far, So Good, So What album. I just saw them play the Aftershock festival and band sounds real good, though it looked like someone left Dave in the sun too long.
Music is not a one way… it’s cool because he wasn’t “supposed” to do nothing, “pausing” “double time”… all of this doesn’t matter! 😂 If feels good… it is the way! You know this man is the best, because he listen to the original drums without comparing, just listening. The most honor a musician can have is a cover or a appreciation for the work you make!
I’m not a musician, but I wonder if the original drummer would get a kick out of the fresh interpretation. Like I wonder if he would implement some of the things he heard on this in his live shows to mix it up for fun.
I had the privilege to already saw megadeth and the killers live and they both are amazing live. But here Dirk just took Mr brightside to another level :)
The reason I can believe some of these musicians and not heard up 40 music is because I discovered Falling Reverse only six months ago. I was in my hip-hop phase and they were coming up and I totally missed out on them. So it is possible.
Ronnie is a super tight clean drummer, hard to compare. The original is better for sure but it's clear this guy's is a pro and knows more than I'll ever know
I love his version. This is what I want from these experiments. I don’t want the drummer from another band to just play the song, let hear your version not theirs.
It's not like the drums to said song are hard either (the rest is). Now, if it was Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would Suck Without You, that's amusingly a much harder pop song to drum to. See Cobus: ua-cam.com/video/_C94TllOV9Y/v-deo.html
Need to review josean orta from fit for an autopsy iron moon drum playthrough . Bloke is a beast on the drums. Aswell as art from lamb of god playthroughs ✊️
My only complaint about this original video is that they say "Megadeth drummer". Like, he'd been drumming for Megadeth for like a year...at best...he's been in so many other great bands.
took too damn long to subscribe. love the reaction to el estepario siberiano. i've watched your reaction to him 20 times probably. not sure why it took this dude playing Mr Brightside to pull the trigger....... LOL
I love metal miusic on 78's to 90's i heve 34 yers old now but who cers i feel like litel guy listening to non-metal song plying in metal goys wow❤ i don't know what to sey 😮 wow im impresed 😊❤
I can't name any Dua Lipa song, maybe a I heard something from her but I'm not sure, but to be honest I don't usually hang out very much and I only listen to music I like and with headphones so I'm not very exposed to mainstream music as Dua Lipa or Blackpink for example, I heard those names and I know they're very famous of course but I don't listen their music so you can name any of their songs and I probably will be very lost to name it 😂
BTS, Blackpink, Dua Lipa, Camila Cabello or any regueton "artist" are just names to me, they're famous so I hear the names a lot but that's just it, names, I'm not familiar with their music, probably I heard some of their music by chance but I'm more inclined to say that's not the case 😂
How he was able to get the structure of the song and make a single pass that good is insane. Super talented.
Love his version. He makes the song more emotional
🤘🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
honestly, listening to a bunch of the Drumeo videos, I feel like almost any non-metal song could benefit from being played by a metal drummer.
Yes exsacly ❤ the best od the bests bets ❤
His version is much better than the original imo. Dirk is a stud
@@YourScaryMother +1
The half time feel into the incredible double bass work made it build all the way through. Loved it.
Dirk showed his vision of the drumming sound on this legendary track. I've watched this episode of Drumeo several times. Exelent video!
Crushed it! Grew up with Megadeath so HELL YEAH YOU HAVE FANS!
Megadeth is an amazingly talented band and they put on a hell of a show. Hell, all 80s hard rock bands put on amazing shows really.
Megadeth live is a next level experience. Dirk is just an absolute beast.
One of the Greats of thrash Metal for sure!!!!
I write out structure sheets too learned it from one of my Drum teachers a long time ago. Excellent for just hearing it one time!!!!!
What a nice empathic man, thx for your vid Colby
Great video. Saw Megadeth earlier this year. Very lucky to get one of Dirk's drum sticks. So cool!
Just relistened to this - the guy’s really nailing it - without hearing the original drum part, he’s doing a great job - good feel, sounds natural - nice work!
This blows me away and I've seen it 30+ times now. The Chad Smith/30 Seconds to Mars one is mind-blowing too.
He was in Soilwork for a long time, check out Dirk play-through "Early for the kill, late for the slaughter" from Soilwork.😊
He's good!! 🤘
Love Dirk! His work with Soilwork and on Devin Townsend's Deconstruction album is awesome!
Megadeth was my first concert in 1990…amazing band.
wow - that is a nice take on being transformative with the original content. fair use all the way. Nice to see someone not just sitting, making minimal commentary and overall just adding a bunch to the original video. Great job dude - this does not suck at all.
This drummer has very clean from simple to intricate chops. I love his style
What a great review - very engaging. Well done. What an amazing drummer.
Dirks' version could definitely be used. If he sped up the tempo a bit and perfected, the ending, it would have been really good.
🤘🏻🤘🏻👍🏻
Gotta disagree o. The speeding the tempo. Doing that would match the original, kklling the more morose tone Dirks playing gives the song. I think it matches the song better.
@@sethkeown5965 That's your opinion, and I'm cool with that. 👍

Great video. I feel the same as you do about the fills. He really killed this one.
Thanks for watching 🤘🏻🤘🏻
He definitely was all 🔥🔥🔥 and wow I love both of the versions of the drums!
He looks like such a geek. I say this affectionately: geeks take what they do seriously a enjoy doing it at a level that "outsiders" often don't get.

Awesome.
Fantastic job for a first time playing.

Yeah! He knows how to deliver!!👍👍
Definitely cool to see his take. Pretty far from the original to be honest, there was only like a few bars where he took the same path as the actual song during the chorus where he kept it simple
I like this guys feel better than the original.
Wow this sounds good and his drums sound amazing.
He's so good, and relaxed.
That snare sounds CRISP
Have I seen them live was the question. Many times. Megadeth has always had top notch musicians. Drummers in the band have come and gone. Two stand out to me: Nick and Dirk.
Well done Dirk! You da man!
Gar was amazing as well
@@piwo647 when sober
@@aldenduffieldIII yes I meant stylistically and creatively. The Gar / Chris era had a lot of charm. But yes these guys had larger issues with drugs.
I've never liked this song, but this makes me love it. Such a fantastic groove.
Great drummer... I need to see Megadeth for the 4rth time now with this new member of the band.
His version was less teen angst and more pure depression
I wanna see this guy make up drum parts for all sorts of songs!
I saw this before, I just love that it gives a different view and feel to an already awesome song!!!! Love what he did 🔥
Dirk is so chill such an amazing drummer and cool guy. Matched up with James Lomenzo in Megadeth is perfect both guys are so incredibly chill, professional and good people. Dave is lucky to have them. I love Dirks version a lot
I love the 1/2 time approach 😮😮🎉🎉
Hell of a kit he has. I suppose as he plays a lot of 80's/90's metal, he needs the full 80's beast, one of everything in the catalogue. And a few twos!
Just Amazing 🦾🦾🤘🏼🤘🏼
That drum set is killer
I'm a Megadeth fan and this has gone viral hes blown everyone away to throw some metal into that was amazing
Dirks kit is amazing. He's such an accomplished drummer.
Amazing how the chart directs him. Double bass at the end. I like when he said " a lot of time theres no time" 😂😂😂 why dirks is all amazing... hahaha
I've been a Megadeth fan since the So Far, So Good, So What album. I just saw them play the Aftershock festival and band sounds real good, though it looked like someone left Dave in the sun too long.
Long time Megadeth fan...all things considered I think he did great! Dirk's skills are on a completely different level.
Amazing skills
He is pretty good I never heard about him 💕🙏
It was a good take. I wanna see Chad do it!
He is great. Love his version.
I'd totally buy Dirk's version over the original!
Music is not a one way… it’s cool because he wasn’t “supposed” to do nothing, “pausing” “double time”… all of this doesn’t matter! 😂

I love how he "minimized" the overall drumming, but he couldn't NOT play crazy metal fills 😅❤
i saw him live this year. i was stunned! i came for megadeth and ended up staring at him and not dave...
He made it sound better.
The reason I can believe some of these musicians and not heard up 40 music is because I discovered Falling Reverse only six months ago. I was in my hip-hop phase and they were coming up and I totally missed out on them. So it is possible.
Yep nailed it.
Hes an unstoppable force!
Big Megadeth fan myself, you should listen to the drumming on their album Peace Sells with Gar, he was fantastic.
Ronnie is a super tight clean drummer, hard to compare. The original is better for sure but it's clear this guy's is a pro and knows more than I'll ever know
Need a version of this released
Megadeth rocks, always great Musicians.
Megadeth is such a great band. 🎧
Megadeth is awesome live
I love his version. This is what I want from these experiments. I don’t want the drummer from another band to just play the song, let hear your version not theirs.
Mdeth live is a must-do if you do rockn roll. pretty much top of the line. Dirk rules also there
Love Dirk!
He killed it except for the end 😅
He needs a K swap!
@@ocdrums24 you damn right he does 😅
It bothers me!!!!!!!
What should've happened at the end? Does it really matter since it's his interpretation?
@@evanhayes5891 he was off a beat... just one... Only One!😁
Yes they are badass
People can say what they want about Dave Mustaine but he always surrounds himself with amazing musicians
Megadeth fan, I love his version more than the original, as an The Killers fan aswell
I tried to play megadeths song holy wars once and I did okay I guess. I love heavy metal music a lot
I miss dirk playing in soilwork
Live this version
This is pretty sweet content bro. Got you a new sub.

As a musician by myself I don't really can believe that such professional musicians don't know the top 50 people in their own flock.....
