Fun fact. Bofors built the fastest fiering 5" ship Canon I'm the 1950. Fiering at 80 rounds per minute... yea.. 80... that is 1.3 rounds per second.
To this day the fastest fiering large caliber gun of any type.
If you want a tip when dealing with torpedo spammers its to keep your ship in reverse, the ai will always aim infront of your ship wich means the torpedo will be way of.
And I also believe you will have max cruise speed bonus regardless of speed in reverse

Probably the worst condition you could get for the ship .. storm. Threw your to chance hit out the window, spotting was lowered so in easy torp range. I would LOVE to see this ship perform against that same group in clear weather.

You can put a 9" one on the barbette and a 2" one anywhere around. I think there would be room for 6x2" guns and 6" will not be just ballast.
And using the small barbettes turned inward to create double rows on each side. Dude could have done so much more with this.

guns always had armro, 2 inchers lack barbette armor (barbete arrmor is going to kick in at 5 inches). Also why use the tinny funnels the big ones are more space efficient.
Well not completly, some big funnels Are way too big, dont fit anywhere, and well small funnels do fit everywhere,and thus, are fairly better space efficiente

34:45 I understand what you're going for with the 2" guns but I think 4" or 5" are going to be much better in almost all cases.
Given the size classes of the foes and the risk of torpedoes one they get into range, would not it be better to use 4" casements and the 5 or 6 inch secondary with that 1 9" in a Barnette.
I seam to remember a similar battle about 2 years back where the outcomes was similar with the sumnary being the 2" only do the job as long as the risk of torpedo was dealt with.
my build was 33,478t, 25kts, 1 standard 9" gun mounted on the main tower, 20x1 6"/46 casemates, 28x2 6"/49 guns, 2x1 underwater torp launcher. Basically, a fairly fast big boy with lots of 6" guns. the AI tend to not try to swarm you at a close distance if you have your own torpedoes.
After action review. After attempting to maintain around 4km between German BB Wettin and the enemy French ships, light cruisers: Roland, Primauguet, Nielly, and Pascal, as well as their accompanying destroyers: Guepard, ??, Foudroyant, Simoun, Annamite, ??, Marocain, Chacal, Bordelais, and Cavalier were all sunk. BB Wettin sustained minor damage during the fight, losing not even 5% of her structural integrity, and receiving no flooding damage. Many enemy torpedoes were thrown in the direction of Wettin early in the fight but were easily dodged as Wettin was already presenting a stern attack angle attempting to maintain distance. Mid fight, some torpedoes came very close to hitting Wettin, but the skilled captain was able to avoid these torpedoes. Near the end of the fight, the skies were full of shells as Wettin and the light cruisers slugged it out around 3km, until the French surrendered one by one. The French light cruisers were noted to have a lot of armor and torpedoes, but little firepower, mounting only 2 5" guns along with many smaller secondaries. The destroyers played no role in the battle, other than that of a nuisance. Total victory was achieved.

only real adjustment I'd make is stick the 9" on the aft deck as far back as possible making all manner of Deck space for small guns.
accuracy doesn't matter when you have 72 barrels pointing at your target = something will find some hull!
mayhaps a 3 or 4" gun would have been a better choice even though it's a lower Mk. version. at least it has some penetration and something you can call range.
6 Torpedoes and Sunk not the best outcome.
That was pretty much my thoughts as well. Single stern 9" turret with as many twin 4" secondary as would fit. Given the stormy weather I might not have even bothered with the casemates at all.

But it is a single-player game; cheating yourself out of fun is the worst that can happen and it’s not like the other participants do not know how you got your points, so do as you have the most fun.
Same with seeing the enemy gun and torpedo ranges and gun sizes before having them identified.
Or the general layout of their vessels in detail from a million miles away.

Those 2" looked interesting, but they nullified the firepower and protection advantage a BB brings. The range was so short you were vulnerable the entire time, and zero penetration from the 2" meant that no matter how many you had, you wouldn't take down even the DDs quickly enough. Maybe try it with 4" instead?

I normally don't watch most of the other shipyard champions, but this is an interesting problem which could have a variety of interesting solutions. Stealth's attempt was creative and fun.
