Miniatur Wunderland Airport: An AvGeek Must See
Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 лип 2024
- In this video, we’ll explore a bit of Miniatur Wunderland, the world’s largest model railway. We’ll spend most of the time watching the action at Miniatur Wunderland Airport, an unbelievable scale model of Hamburg’s Airport. Miniatur Wunderland Airport includes all of the action of the real thing, just on a smaller scale.
Miniatur Wunderland Airport took 150,000 hours of work to build. Miniatur Wunderland Airport has 40,000 LED bulbs, 62 miles of wiring, 50,000 lines of code. The cost to build Miniatur Wunderland Airport? Four million Euros. While Miniatur Wunderland Airport was not quite as expensive as the real Hamburg Airport, this is one serious exhibit!
Miniatur Wunderland Airport hosts around 250 takeoffs and landings each day. There are 787’s, A330’s, 777’s, 747’s, even Concorde! There are a host of support vehicles at Miniatur Wunderland Airport. Everything from a Miniatur Wunderland Airport fire department to catering trucks and super tugs, Miniatur Wunderland Airport has it all. Perhaps most striking is just how similar it is to the real thing!
Tickets for adults to enter Miniatur Wunderland are about 15 Euros, kids get in for half of that price. You can book your ticket online, which might help you skip the lines, which can get pretty long at certain times of the year. Oh, and by the way, this is NOT a sponsored video. I paid for my ticket.

Miniatur Wunderland has the only airport where Ryanair can butter
*minture wonderland* spell it correctly first
@@yusufj4020 It's Miniatur Wunderland. It's German for Miniature Wonderland. So you actually spelled it wrong in English too :/
He's trying to defend ryanair! Seize him! Also, how do you try correcting somebody without using your brain? Like, "minture wonderland" What the Hellen Kellen. Also, danil is my handy man now.
@@campbellaviation7357 xD
danil karmadonov i did spell it right in english but im not german and also the youtuber put miniatur wunderland because thats how the germans say it but yes i got in english correctly
Jeb, our foreign exchange student's family took us to see this treasure! The details are mind blowing! I stood for hours watching the airport and all the fantastic exhibits of the MiniatureWorld. I was completely mesmerized! My German family (Gerold, Kristin, and Lennard) are the best gifts in my life! I am so thrilled you showcased this amazing place. We also toured the Airbus facility... as an aviation geek, I could hardly stop smiling!
Not only an avgeek’s paradise, but a train geek’s too!
Considering i am both. I should definetly visit.
Not only for geeks of any Kind but for people in general. There is so much detail to the animations, cars, figures and buildungs. Also the funny szenes. To truly discover every detail Will take more time then just 1 or 2 days!

Three of my favourite things
The funny car is an elefant from a famous German TV Show for kids🇩🇪
Kaff Produktions and it is a real vacuum cleaner, the H0 cars often have problems with dust.
The blue car is an Kids TV Character in Germany.
Ole Peters a*
Actually it serves as a vacuum to keep the dust of the road
@M Brieger No it isnt if dust was on the road how was the plane able to move dumb
@@alviyunitasari3737 It is made for cleaning. The cars are steered by small electro lines, which dont work if dust is blocking it.
@@MBrieger together with a crocodile shaped vehicle.
Jeb isn’t wrong in the slightest. On my trip to Germany, we visited the Miniatur in Hamburg and it was incredible! Especially the mini airport!
The millennium falcon can be seen flying at the airport too!
That miniature airport is seriously cool, I could watch it for hours and not be bored 😍
The blue elephant is a vacuum cleaner, cause dust is death to the little cars
So it actually does serve the very same function as Nunu in Teletubbies! haha! That's hilarious and fantastic! I love it. I had taken a guess that it might have been serving a purpose like that, or, perhaps as a vehicle that can count and track the amount of visitors around each portion of the exhibits.
Its actually a waste cleaner because when you go to the toilet at the airplane the urine goes to pipes under the plane untill it finds containers where its stored untill the little elephant comes and cleans it up for the next flight
I just came back from my trip from Hamburg and the Miniatur Wunderland was absolutely mindblowing :)
This is on my bucket list since I was 5
09rbgaming 775, me too, but now I’m 38.
Jeez
Dot Trail, you’re correct, dude. 🤪
"The world's biggest little airport"
Me : confused screaming
I’ve been there. It’s absolutely amazing
Mind blown and officially on the Bucket List!!!
This is a MUST to go to if you're lucky enough to visit Hamburg, Germany (a great place to visit anyway...), also the Airbus plant, of course. I'm way more into aviation than a model trains guy, but the world they've created (apart from "just" the Airport) is absolutely mindblowing. Attention and love to detail is beyond everything you'd dream of - let alone of what you would expect, even if you knew all the advertising. Your jaws will drop once you enter MiWuLa. It is vast and astonishing, the admission of 15 Euros is nothing short of a bargain for all the hours of awe. Adult or minor, you will never forget the experience. Unique in the world. One day they'll be able to reduce the size of the nosewheels and have working flaps, slats and spoilers on their planes. Just imagine rejected takeoffs and landings with spoilers deplpoyed. But those things are to be neglected for the time being as it is already amazing just the way it is and it IS a gift to the world. @MiWuLa.tv
Edit: typo
That airport is so cool and realistic, it’s impressive
All I can say is "WOW" ABSOLUTELY amazing a definite bucket list item..
I dreamt of something like this when I was a teen, in the ‘80s, more so on the aviation part. So happy to see a similar mind acted on it!!
Unable to believe that it is a museum or real world . Unbelievable Creation.
Salute for such creation idea .
I have never seen anything like this before. Amazing.
You just put Hamburg on my list of potential European destinations! This place looks AWESOME! Thanks for posting!
We allowed 2 hours when we visited a few years ago and it wasn’t enough! What a place!
What an incredible experience! Thanks for sharing, Jeb!
The level of detail is really amazing! I love how they have the flying eye hospital there.
Already scratch that off bucket list. Seen it 10yrs ago. It just you blow away. The airport still being built at time.
Now the airport works and they have added Italy and Venice (built separately).
Bwah! Jeb! I saw a Concorde! I saw a Concorde!(jumps up and down, clapping hands and squealing like a little girl) I could sit here for hours and never get bored! My father's side of the family is from Hamburg. Must put this on my bucket list. Oh, Jeb, if you could see my face right now, I have the biggest, most childlike smile!
Good news - I am almost finished with my cardio rehab. My doctors are saying perhaps I will be allowed to take to the skies again in March. They like my positive attitude, and that is has been a help. Keep fingers crossed! Have a wonderful Christmas!☺☺🌲🌲💖
being a model railroader and interested in planes, buses and trains, this is definitely a must see.. thank you thank you
Ryanair to use these airports across their service routes to cut down costs.
I remember going there a couple of times as a kid. Even when I go back there now I still have a lot of fun there, really a nice activity to do with the family and a MUST DO when you visit Hamburg.
How did I not know this exists??? I used to live near HH and still visit every year!! It's on my list for 2020!!!
Jeb, 15 euros well spent, this display is nothing short of amazing!!!!! Can’t wait to visit and catch the Concord take off

I am so sad I’m in HKG airport and my flight boards in 2 hours so I won’t get to see the premier

Wow....thats amazing!
stay long enough and see an emergency landing from a shuttle
or the Millenium Falcon...
@@CherryGS or a Bummel, a mixture of a Biene (bee) and a Hummel (bumble bee), which is related to Hamburg. Btw., the Millennium Falcon is even anounced as YT-1300 coming either from Death Star or from Hoth.
@@Astrofrank i know :-) and i'm looking forward to our next visit, hopefully in the oktober holidays.
@@CherryGS Hopefully the Corona crisis is not relevant anymore at that time. I want to visit the MiWuLa, too, as the five hours in 2013 were not enough.
Such a cool place. In the old docks of Hamburg! Nice Video!

I agree - If you are in Hamburg you should go to the Miniatur Wunderland at the Hafenstadt in Hamburg. As you said you can loose hours there watching to all the details...
Thank you, Jeb, for sharing your video with us.

I will visit this museum the next time I am in Hamburg! I have sat in a Concorde at the museum in Barbados. The leather seats still smelled new.
Awesome! I would spend hours there!!
Wow! That is a great video, thank you
Went here in September of this year and think we were inside for almost 5 hours, it was amazing! If anyone goes then I highly recommend you do the backstage tours!
I go there once or twice year it’s amazing
That place truly makes me feel like I'm 6 again, awesome vid!
Its nice to see this. Models are always enjoyable to watch
I live in Hamburg and I don't visit the MiWuLa, short for Miniatur WunderLand (who would have thought), very often but it still amazes me every time, again and again. Even though I know it fairly well, I somehow still manage to get lost there. I'm very excited to see the new districts.
Ps: thank you for your videos, I really enjoy watching them and I hope you had a good time in good ol' Hamburg
It is on my bucket list. I have to see it.
Very Nice! Das Hamburg Miniatur wunderland!
This is so cool!
This is awesome. Would love to go there
What a work of art ,, absolutely fantastic brilliant cheers Shane uk 🇬🇧
One of the most fascinating thing ever
I loved it there!
Looks amazing. I live in LA and I love visiting San Diego miniature museum but I’ve added this to my list
I’m fortunate to have traveled to Hamburg twice on a Princess Cruise ship. The first time we visited another part of the City - but upon reboarding the ship, we heard the raves from other passengers about Miniature Wonderland. The next time we visited Hamburg we walked from the dock over to this amazing place. IMHO this is a must-do in Hamburg!!!
If I ever go back - I guess we’ll visit the Airbus factory if possible. Thanks for the idea.
Amazing
I went here in 2016... And I can't wait to go back one day :)
Wunderbar!
Love it thank you
amazing and on my travel list
Amazing ! I really need to go
