      Great video, one little detail, I might be wrong but I believe you misspronounced Skoda , it starts with a Š sound in slavic languages, which is SCH in German like S in Sport. Also, fun fact, in Czech language, if written with small letter š, it mean damage or loss or injury, like Schaden in German :) Love your channel, keep up the great work!

      Hi, for jeager I disagree, because the family and edmond jeager himself came from Alsace.. And the Alsace prononciation for '' jaeger '' is in fact like the '' hunter '' in German, so you. Prononcé it like the jeager in German 😉 most horrible is nowboby looks fit the story of the family of edmond jeager.. Thzr is the real answer, but in Paris, they all sayd it like French style and certainly himself, but in the origin it is jeager prononced like your mother tale 😉

      In French, a "G" is still a "G" and not a "K". It's Piguet, not "Piké". So if anything it would be "odemar pigeh".

    Hi Jenni, in Switzerland we pronounce JLC in the german way as well as in the french way, both are correct. Edmond Jaeger lived in Elsass before moving to Paris ;-) Thanks for the video !

    So glad you cleared up Aldi, I've always pronounced it how it's spelt but many here in the UK pronounce it 'Aul-di' to distinguish it from Audi

    I have seen a similar video with a young French guy pronouncing French designer products. But Jennie, you are amazing and I love your pronunciation especially in the watch field. I think all American you tubers (watches) should be forced to watch this video, especially when they pronounce Cartier - as you beautifully tell how the American people pronounce it. RESPECT. I am convinced that many have greatly enjoyed this video. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I'm a big fan of your channel

    Great video! I definitely learned some things (I was 100% pronouncing the first part of Jaeger Lecoultre as as if it was German). Minor correction: the “g” in Longines is definitely not silent. It simply makes a soft “j” sound like in the word bonjour, rather than a hard “g” sound like in the word “gift”.

      Just pronounce it as people would in your home country. After all we don`t say Paree instead of Paris, Moskva instead of Moscow, Munchen instead of Munich, Roma in place of Rome etc. Trying to pronounce a foreign name if you not of that country can sound a bit pretentious. Vorsprung durch technik as Del Boy would say.

      I've been saying it with germain Jaeger and french LeCoultre... it will be difficult for me to transition to "Je Gehr" though I speak french.

      it's actually "skoda" in german... "shcoda" is in czech as the brand Skoda is originally founded in Czech Republic, also known as Czechia and then bought by the german brand Volkswagen.

    It's always fun listening to the correct pronunciations of things. You missed a great opportunity to mention Adi Dasslers' brother, Rudolf and his sportswear company PUMA, arguably one of the most mispronounced companies.

    Well done on the French named brands, so many people get it wrong. Just one thing : the final « n » in Blancpain not technically silent. If the name was Blancpai, the second part of the word would sound like the German « ä ».

    From a Swiss guy a biking distance from the manufacture: you should pronounce Jaeger-LeCoultre with a French “a” sound for ae not a French “e” sound.

      I was born in Paris and lived in Geneva for my high school years, and though "Jaeger" is a German name, in French the Jae is pronounced as you would the verb j'ai ("I have") in French.

      it's actually "skoda" in german... "shcoda" is in czech as the brand Skoda is originally founded in Czech Republic, also known as Czechia and then bought by the german brand Volkswagen, so technically she's not wrong.

      I think all the Frenchs do that, the "eh" must be hard to pronounce for us. But for the other german brands, we are not bad.

      You can also have triple the amount of goods with you there until you have to pay customs compared to Switzerland and the EU.
