As soon as you said Brook Gaming was a partner, i was interested. Ive been so impressed with their products they are crazy simple but work flawlessly and no one else does what they do really. I can use my Xbox Series controller on Dreamcast because of them lol. Super cool stick too!
Honestly, the fact that this evolved from a Dreamcast fighting stick is impressive on itself. I too hope that it becomes compatible with the Gamecube and N64 as those were some of Nintendo's best.
Looks like a version or variant of the Brooks Retro Board from ArcadeShock. Really nice to have that with all the extra buttons and features like VMU, turbo, and menu buttons ready to go:). Hope the mapping is improved from the BRB too.
Love your channel. I was one of the first in line to purchase my Sega Genesis with the pack in game altered beast. I was so excited to own this and purchased every game that came out for it the day it was released. I spent so much money on my cartridges but couldn't wait so I paid full price. Any way, I don't think you have ever covered the game "The Misadventures of Flink". It was a late cartridge release in Europe only but a CD version was released in America. The graphics of this game are incredible with extreme detail and color that look 32 British in my opinion. Sound is also great with challenging gameplay. Cartridge and CD versions are almost identical except for the sound. Thank you for such great work.
Peace fam, your channel is great an I appreciate you and others like you. I to am into retro gaming an use emulation via apps an your content definitely keeps me in the loop of retro gaming 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wish it didn't have that overhanging lip around the palm rest. I've had another stick of that type of design tipping on my lap while resting my palms on it. It does seem to have a large distance between the buttons and the lever which is always a plus for me.
I just bought my first arcade stick, a Mayflash 500. If I can get an arcade stick for my Gamecube, sign me the fuck up! I would buy one in a heartbeat!
that looks sick. one day I'll get one....been saying that for like 20 years lol. at least I got my old dragon ball z ps2 fight stick lol. It legit looks awesome though.
This looks very nice. What I'm looking for is an arcade stick with an area large enough under the action buttons to rest my palm on. I have an 8bitdo arcade stick but the area below where the buttons are is not big enough to rest my hand on.
@@otterdonnelly9959 for retro games you will need more than just a faceplate, you also need things like SOCD cleaning to ensure only one (or no) signal is sent to the console of opposite directions are pressed otherwise really awful stuff happens that breaks the game.
@@otterdonnelly9959 I saw nothing about SOCD cleaning in the campaign description, and I just double checked. Which video has it? I am totally on board if this actually is a thing.
I know this probably isn't the place to ask, but will the final version have a way to switch the stick between digital and analog? I understand if no, because the majority of games it's meant for use digital or have movement on both, but i felt it was worth asking.
Too bad I don't have much money to burn, otherwise I'd buy this in a heartbeat! Even so, knowing some 3rd party PS2 pads blow that system's rumble fuse (meaning even official pads won't vibrate if connected to your console), I hope they're making sure this stick won't blow your PS2's rumble fuse! (This is also why I've been holding fire over getting Retro Fighters' Defender pad) If N64 compatibility happens, this'd make a great means of playing games that don't recognize the Control Stick! (This is why, if playing in handheld mode, I attached the left NES pad to my Switch for Kirby 64!)
@SegaLordX any new words on this? I'm interested in getting into fight sticks and don't really know where to start. This seems like the best product out there for someone into older hardware though?
I have one of these except it's called an 8-bitdo arcade stick and I put Sanwa stick and buttons in it. I have recievers for every single console that they make one for. By the way it also has an automatic gate switcher from 8 way to four-way with a push of a button
the 8bitdo is a very small stick though and doesnt have 10x vmus built in. Also buying all the adapters seperately is much more $ than just getting the octopus during the funding period, because you get most of the adapters included
@THENAMEISQUICKMAN yes all my life here in Greece...with the left hand you smash the buttons and with the right hand you control the stick...why?... because people are right handed...even on my Amiga500 I own an unbreakable custom greek arcade controller( the best in the world) where the stick is on the right side...why cross your arms to play a game...that's stupid...there should be an option for left and right stick controllers...again...the majority of people are right handed...not leftys.
@@sakis-c9x The stick is on the left and buttons are on the right as standard for pretty much all arcade games. Especially with fighting games, you need just as much dexterity to use all the buttons properly as you do to move the stick.
That's Microsoft's fault and nobody else's. I'm sure it would have worked but Microsoft now blocks all non certified controllers, so even stick and leverless controllers that were fine on Series X a year ago don't work anymore. Same goes for the Brook adapters. As of now you only have 3 stick options for Xbox: Nacon Daija, Hori Alpha and 8bitDo and zero leverless options. Microsoft was already struggling to be relevant in the fighting game scene and that decision cemented their irrelevancy in that space forever. Let's not forget custom sticks are big in the fighting game scene and Microsoft shut all that out too.
I don't find many projects, but I backed this one. I can't wait to use this bad boy on PS2 and SNES.
There's nothing quite like a good fighting stick for MAME.
Any mention of if it will work day one with M.A.R.S. ?
True, but Dreamcast is already arcade perfect lol

Neat. I just recently imported an original Dreamcast arcade stick and restored it.
I got one also but it didn't need to be restored. Its great
I hope the Genesis is supported.
I've been wanting a proper arcade stick forever, but just never got one.
I think I'm gonna get this one!
Thanks!
Love the channel, man. Your uploads always seem to be very timely for me. Have been looking for a good retro and modern compatible arcade stick.
Awesome fight stick! Awesome video! Great job SegaLX!
OMG, the prototype faceplate you got looks a lot like my custom MadCatz for X360. Even the pink buttons and ball top. 🤩
This looks super cool here. It really gives so much fun when it comes to play any fighting game, to give a more awesome arcade experience

I’ve been in the market for a universal fighting stick for my retro consoles, so I’ll have to check into ordering this intriguing product.
Definitely an interesting product. I probably don’t need it since I have an F500 Elite. Kind of the same thing except you’ll need adapters for it.

The Octopus is massive. You can rest both hands on the device quite comfortably.
You know they say if you can't stop talking about the subject you really like it,, and then when you actually hate something that means you hate kii
Genuinely curious as to how they have a VMU emulated on the stick.
The screen's PCB is just that a screen with no extra hardware 🤔

This better be the BEST fighting stick ever MADE for someone like Sega Lord X covering it for an entire segment!
Am I alone also wanting this to also be compatible with Wii and WiiU?!?

You can just use a leverless faceplate

Why no genesis/MD support? If it had that, I'd be all over it.
Likely because the Genesis has such a small fighting game library. Most of what it has is considered better on the SNES.
