    • @hamradiotube
      @hamradiotube  3 роки тому +1

      It's going great except for when I tried to fix what didn't need fixing. I tried to route out the power pole connector a little bit more to get a more snug fit and ended up cutting too much. Now I need to rebuild the whole top section. The solar charge controller puts out a stupid amount of RFI. I had one that looked the same before but managed to destroy it (don't ask how) that didn't put out any RFI, but being that they are from China, I may have just got lucky once. The USB seems to put out some RFI as well so nothing is shielded. Not a deal breaker for me as I don't usually use them all at once. The idea was to have an emergency solar generator and HF radio in one. Not necessarily to be used at the same time. The unfortunate thing is not knowing what would be a clean bit of electronics when you buy it. Not too many stores around these days where you can try these things out.

      To be fair, Buddipole sent that to me to advertise it for them. Advertising is expensive, much moreso then giving away some free gear. Buddipole puts ads in QST on a regular basis, which costs $200 for a small ad, and up to $1800 for a full page ad in a prime location. Giving away freebies is just smart business practice and a lesser expensive form of advertisement.
