  • SI Joint Pain: Sleeping and Walking
    Q & A 16- SI Joint Pain⁣

SI joint pain can be such a nuisance. Especially when it bothers you during everyday activities such as sleeping and walking.⁣

There are so many different things that could cause this which is one of the reasons SI joint pain can be difficult to treat! (And, for the treatment you do get to have life long lasting results.) ⁣

Watch the video to see my full breakdown of possibilities but it could be anything from weak adductors, an anterior pelvic tilt, a weak core, hip imbalances, and more (whew!🤣)⁣

It may take a little investigative work to figure out the exact cause for you but it is well worth it to be out of pain!⁣

Give this video a watch if you or your clients are experiencing SI joint pain and see if it gives you any clues about what might be the cause 😊⁣

Thank you for mentioning the hang string bridge exercise, I've bee in excruciating pain the last 4 days from SI joint misalignment and the exercise really does help it reset the joint over time. Now if anyone can do a video on prep work before going to bed to avoid not being able to not get out of bed from overnight sleep due to everything resetting. Great video.

I am not doing online consultations at the moment but our head Physical Therapist Anna is (I am sure you have seen her videos on here). She is amazing! You can email info@coreexercisesolutions.com if you were interested in seeing her schedule.

I’m having severe either sciatic or priformis pain and my foot goes numb when I walk or extend my leg. . Laying down it’s not horrible but walking one street over is exercrutiating but yoga or lifting kids or playing isn’t nearly as bad. Super tight and pain after the day but walking by far is worst or standing . It’s new for me about two months of this. I really need to be able to function. I just started working this week and I’d like to be able to do it.

I am so sorry that this is happening - I would check in with your provider on this.

I would have to see you move to be more specific with recommendations. I do have a pregnancy program that is part of my All Access Membership. We would be able to see you move in the secret FB group that comes with the membership.

Have you been to a physical therapist for them to help assess you? I would have to see you move to see what may be causing the issue when laying down.

Pregnancy caused it. I am a year in and have pain. Will it go away? Therapy has strengthened my muscles, but other times it exacerbates it.

Sounds like maybe you need a different physical therapist. The therapy should be helping long term.

First, it might be wise for you to remake this video in a room with no hard surfaces; the echo makes it almost impossible to understand what you're saying, and even with subtitles I struggled. Next ... a great big THANK YOU! I have suffered with S.I. joint dysfunction for nearly 20 years, probably as a result of pretty grotesque scoliosis. I have never been able to break the habit of sleeping on my right side, which makes me wake in terrible pain, and I must use a walker for the first couple of hours after I rise. No one has ever before mentioned supporting my left leg with a pillow. I've been doing it for the past week, and I am virtually pain-free. After so many years as a cripple I'm weak and my muscles tire and ache readily, but I'm ready to start trying to rebuild my strength, so will look into some of your other videos.

It would be really helpful if you would speak slower and lower as you are in an empty room and your voice echos around and thus you are very hard to understand.
