It’s always fun to watch this deck buzz saw through opposition, I feel kinda bad for the no-Winter-Orb guy for agreeing to take a second beating, though. 😂 I know your focus is generally on 1v1, but do you think this deck could scale well to multiplayer? I’m tempted to give the team a shot. The value engines out of the command zone are insane…
Brian, Nate, been following you guys for a decade. Would love to see more Tandem Games like this. Also, would you ever consider giving Canlander another chance? 😊 keep the content coming !
Hey, thanks for the kind words! I am still definitely interested in Canadian Highlander, I just wish there was more local interest in the format. Certainly people play it over webcam, but I really don't enjoy Magic played that way. Do you know of any other communities for it?
@@Thebrianweissman There are a couple of Seattle peeps on the official discord . I‘m sure they will help you out if you post a request. Also there are lots of people in the MTGO bracket of the server, so finding opponents online shouldn‘t be an issue either. Hope that helps ☺️
I think you will get better games and reactions from people if you host the game with the CEDH tag, making it very clear that it's not default power level commander, although in my mind things go very differently in 1v1, I just think it would be a good filter to set if you want to play against the best decks and not players doing nothing
I host all games with that tag; you just never know what you'll get. That said, during recording long waiting can be a reason to join random games as you can't afford extended dead time.
The "no stax pls"-attitude really betrays what kind of players you're facing on mtgo. I've yet to see this deck match up with a top-tier deck and competitive player on this channel.
There are a few factors contributing to how hard the games are/aren't, from my point of view. Brian may have a different perspective. 1) It can be difficult to find opponents, much less strong ones. When you're trying to make content live, what you get is what you get. 2) Almost nothing is remotely competitive with this deck. This build makes things look so weak, even decks we used to champion as being the cream of the crop back in the day (like Edric or Breya). 3) Generally, both Brian and I are playing less. Both of us are a lot busier for various reasons (he's working on other projects and I was catastrophically injured), but also because the format feels mostly "solved" and therefore playing feels less compelling.
Alas, that's a bit the consequence of the way the format unfolds online. It's just very hard to find steady, skilled opponents, even when you post "CEDH" in your title. I don't bother to do that in my games because it often means I have to wait ages to get a game. I'd rather just play through weaker opponents in search of a good game or a good deck. Every now and then you get a tough game regardless of how good the opponent's deck is, because they get a lopsided draw.
Nate: We have another necro right there. Really enjoyed this. Keep ‘em coming.
Woot won't its been awhile! Cool to see nate. I enjoyed his educational control deck primer videi

Didn’t your mother tell you not to play with your food? 😅
