Possibly because they've seen 'The Humble Mechanic''s video showing the same operation. You have to be VERY careful to put the bolts back into the correct places - there are three different types amongst the bolts you take out.

remember to remember where the torx screws go as some on my car has used a long one on a short hole forcing the skin out ghurrrr

Thank you for a great video. Unfortunately the lock simply won't move on mine after I've removed the T20 torx inside. That means I have to leave the door skin on rust apart

Having pulled various window and locking mechanisms through from the inside over the years, this is actually simpler. You do have to a little more care given its a painted panel, but the access it gives is worth it.
