hahahah these straight up southern good-ol' boys are out here seriously doing damn alchemy at a pretty high level lol. I mean, they innately understand how to use the various chemical components in order to produce exactly what they are wanting to make. They probably never learned much about formal/technical chemistry, but hot damn, they have innately mastered the chemistry of that moonshining process.
@@Itsprimetime23 my point was that they probably can’t scientifically explain every little process for making that alcohol, but if something tasted “off” or they weren’t getting the desired result, they would know exactly what to do to yield what they want. Like, they just intuitively have a practical knowledge of biochemistry for this process. They know exactly what to do on a chemical level to give them the exact result they’re looking for. I wasn’t trying to say you have to have a degree to make moonshine or something like that, just that these guys actually do have a pretty good knowledge of that stuff within them, whether they realize it or not.
@@Itsprimetime23 you have to be pretty smart to know to build your own still and make liquor out of anything, make it take good, and know exactly what ABV it is. Dipsh!t.

Does slowing it down increase the pressure in the system, hence why some rumors i know of these things exploding? I assume slowing it down gives the vapors more time to heat up or something but I really don't know.
Me and a mate got on the piss the other day drinking 64%(128 proof) whiskey. I did warn.him. it can mess up your outsides too. Next day me mate had a black eye, covered in cuts and bruises he got trying to make it the 30m(33yards) odd home.
If you are making 180 proof alcohol, using grains is stupid and wasteful. You strip out all the flavors with the high proof, so you'd save time, money, and effort by just using a sugar wash.
Please explain how you can be attempting to make 180 proof, when you can’t have 102% ABV unless the the container you keeping the shine in is also made out of ethanol, ya dumbos
As cool as this is, it's an insult to Popcorn Sutton. The man killed himself rather than go to prison for making shine. Now it's racking up ad revenue for a dying media conglomerate.
Wondered if anyone else felt this way...I take it as entertainment and got several good chuckles along the way..laughing at, not with..the 4 hrs got to me mostly..more n an hour to get heated up before running.. Im learning to treat it as entertainment and not class..
so you're saying 4 + 2, is it really that far off that instead of the conspiracy that they are just running water that they probably just let them have more time than the show says?
The missed fist bump is too funny at the end haha, you know damn well they have quite the buzz going on after tasting it constantly.
Drunker than a skunk, everytime

Crazy to think they were doing this over 100+ years ago without UA-cam or google.
Don’t mean to burst ur bubble but it doesn’t take a person with a degree in biochemistry to make alcohol

@@stephen88hox yea like I'ma do meth and smuggle coke 🙄 god forbids that people who run the USA would do such a thing
What's the purpose of the tank in the middle (between main tank and condenser) ?
I imagine it's to distill the alcohol an additional time to increase the proof, but don't qoute me on that
Imagine they invite Gordon Ramsey to this and watching him getting roast
Hey that would be pretty cool… I like Gordon Ramsey…
A bottle of blackout.
Man, I miss Moonshiners...
I like when they give them pointers.
Deffenly a good show... it's what help the idea of trading..
Cutting with water?! I thought they were going for 90% (180 proof)?
Awkward fist bump at the end lmfao
This is just like making a sword but whiskey..same platform
It will intoxicate!
They're both competent distillers, with potential for success in their own rite.
Not very competent fist bumpers tho 😂😂
9:15 the moment everyone wanted to see
I enjoy watching the show
It takes days for the fermentation process. How are they mashing and distilling within hours?
Try watching the whole HOUR LONG show instead of commenting on a clip, why don't ya?
They let it ferment five days.
Steve sounds like he’s trying to have a southern accent while sounding like a surfer dude
He sounds like that dude from king if the hill

When I make beer and hard cider I reuse yeast and as a result I'm able to make stronger stuff because the yeast adapts over time

Can anyone explain the science behind the copperware being almost exclusively used?
It helps against impurities and makes the taste smooth.
