- Come along to discover this amazing fishing town, Castellemmare Del Golfo, which oozes culture from it's pores. Only 1 hour from Palermo, this seaside cove blew away our expectations and left us wanting more.
Around the 20s or 30s,not sure which,the Castellamarese war was fought by rival gangs in NYC,called that because most,and maybe all,of the Mafiosi involved,were from Castellamare del Golfo.Joe "The Boss" Masseria became legendary because,as a shooter fired at him from close range,he managed to duck the bullets.There's your Cosa Nostra trivia for the day.
