Very interesting ....I never knew all this. Both my mother's family and my father's family came to the USA before the war....and then my mother and her youngest siblings were sent back to Italy to live with their grandmother a retired teacher. When the 3 small children arrived the grandmother died, and that's when they were sent to live at the Orphanage. My mother told me she loved it so much that she didn't want to return to the USA, and so she ended up earning her college degree, and then after that she and her siblings returned to the USA. Before my mother passed away, she made me promise that I would visit her birthplace. However, now I want to live there......
I miss this beautiful place ❤ hopefully next year we can come and stay during vacation time 🥰 when we were in Palermo I loved Mondello ❤ , we went to St.Rosalia church , we saw almost all Sicily , because my husband mom was living 10 years with Sicilian guy Matteo , he was so fun 😂, and thank of him we saw many beautiful corners of Sicily ❤
Palermo has about 20 decent (or better) tourist attractions so pound for pound it is one of the best destinations in Italy. You didn't even mention the catacombs which is something hard to find anywhere else.
Try la tonnara in the marina. It’s amazing. Definitely one of the best meals we had there. That arch that you were filing. My dad grew up there right behind you when you were filming that shot. We love it there. We live in Florida and try to make it there as much as possible.
Everything is beautiful such great taste in filming all the details for us tourist wannabes in the US. Do you have a video of Capri and AnaCapri? Maybe Portofino and/or Positano? Thank you so much for filming these videos so well made and detailed.
Will be in Castellammare del Golfo in about two and a half weeks. Enjoyed your video. Where does Alfred buy his cigars? I believe they are called Toscamellos?
I adore Palermo ❤ I visited the same areas Eszter. It is a vibrant and very interesting place.. I can see the attraction of living in this city 😊❤ Thank you for another great video.

I was in Palermo in 1977. What beautiful views of the Mediterranean. The food makes me hungry.
Palermo was still a serious city in 1977, now Palermo is a zoo with a vast assortment of animals.😒
Thank you! There's something so special about seeing the mountains and the water together,,,it's my favorite..
I totally agree!
Ester, it's a true HIT! The energy, vibrancy, and genuine Sicilian spirit is infectious 🎉🎉🎉

Yea they tried to destroy our country🫤 thank God they lost or it would have been as Devastated as Palestine is.
Another terrific video. Thanks for sharing.
I still think the Church of Gesu Bambino looks like 20 cake decorators went nuts with royal icing!!!😅
IKR, like a competition!

Buongieurno! Madonna! 😂
Now considered the Madonna of the immigrants and refugees.
Actually the Arabs were trying to conqueror Sicily. 😂
