@@devyanshigarg4667 yes, realisation came in form of manishankar ayyars pakistan visits, rahul gandhi's china visits and false issues raised across india such as award returning row before state elections, dalit issues which faded right after another state elections, creating doubts in the mind of common public about security forces, showing disrespect and disbelief in electoral commission in media without following any legal procedures like shanti bhushan, quoting informal conversations with heads of other nations to put allegations without giving antly evidence of such conversations, deluding the image of nation from international podium to list few. What kind of retarded brain is this to say that they got some realisation from this. That party is made to control indian politics for some foreign interests and loot the indians off of their rights to free speech and ultimately freedom. Have a nice day ahead.

That was a clear picture. I was asking many people about this Emergency case. But, hardly people knew about it. Thanks for this documentary. Congress party being corrupt won’t signify that BJP is corruption-free. Of course, BJP lead by great leaders like JP, Vajpayee, and Advani (to some extent) WAS secular and democratic which are the identities of Indian constitution. In my viewpoint, the current BJP is equally unstable and corrupt like the Congress party. We must be unbiased when it comes to the welfare of the people and the system.

Aditya V. Where did you find that Indira was 'acquitted' ? The 'Stay' in Allahabad H.C was just obtained by 'Luck' as Mr. Shantibhushan was absent & could not oppose it, otherwise, it is grossly 'unusual & incomprehensible' for a Judge to give a 'stay' on his own verdict! Js Krishna Iyer did allow only 'Conditional & partial' stay on Allahabad HC and allowed for hearing of 'further argument'. But Indira did not wait and went for the 'Emergency' and unleashed the series of amendments of acts and the Constitution (39th amendment) itself and that too, with 'retrospective effect' which made the case against her itself irrelevant. Her lawyers did not get any chance to prove her 'Not guilty' because she changed the Law itself! She did not win in the 'Court of Law' and manipulated the 'Law' taking the advantage of the 'Parliament'! Do u find it praiseworthy?

If so, I don't think she was brought down on petty misconduct charges - she abused government machinery for her own ends and even modified the rules to suit her. Doesn't get any worse than that! As for Modi, you're right in saying he might do likewise. But, it would still be wrong on principle and ethics, no matter how many people do it.

Fundamental rights are not absolute. They can be lifted on the grounds of circumstances such as Emergency which is justified on ground of National security. On the other hand, provisions put in Ninth Schedule can be challenged as well, As in case of Tamil nadu state reservation of 69% which exceeds the basic structure doctrine of not more than 50% reservation, SC held that just by putting a law under 9th schedule, it does not make it immune from judicial review, read with article 21 along 14, 15 and 19.

Cleary the judges of the supreme court have failed to honour their responsibility and so permitted oppression. The court should have ruled that the parliament does not have the right to make retrospective laws.

He always gave heed for people's fundamental rights
He had the guts to show Dictator Indra Gandhi that you're not the only supreme authority and you can't infringe the rights of citizens.
After the Historic Judgement , then Indra Gandhi didn't him let promote to Hon'ble SC

I have lived during emergency. It was terrible for democracy. But it was golden period for poor. Family planning was a good scheme. But it was misused in North. It was not misused in south. Sanjay Gandhi scheme for family planning was very bold. This is the need to day . Modi the powerful prime minister cannot do even today

I remember the day the Allahabad high court judgement came out. My father said that it was the end of an era. My mother, a supreme court lawyer herself said to us "all she can do to save herself is declare an emergency". No surprise that is what happened. I just did not know the case was half a technicality and half an understandable lapse of memory. Though not an IG fan myself, especially after the emergency, I wish her political foes would have used the democratic processes to gain power rather than a legal maneuver that ultimately resulted in the country going through the emergency period. Anyway one political leader does not make or break a country. Of-course, we have done worse since and she was a saint when compared to Trump.

Dictatorship became in blood of Nehru AND Indira Gandhi. Nehru made A.370 at J & K JUST TO FAVOR HIS STEP BROTHER TO RULE AT J& K. and so many mistakes in his time, for which till today we the Indians are suffering. Indira Gandhi never followed any rule and EMERGENCY was one of the example. Indira Gandhi made every rule in favor of capitalists and politicians. So the Indian constitution to the people, for the people and by the people has condemned. Today Mr. Narendra Modi P.M. of India is trying to replacing the bad constitution and keeping people more close to govt.
