Hey Anthony, your favourite band Greta Van Fleet are planning a new album for this year. Aren't you excited?

I've seen a couple comments saying the same and I agree. Interesting to see how data just can't compute how humans will feel when listening to music.
This and Lock Your Doors, surprised the metrics didn't give this one more credit on the top ten
@@agentt1750 data can actually compute emotions in a song. The radiohead article was pretty accurate in most of its conclusions. I think the guy who made this article didn't exactly use the best equations though.
@@agentt1750 I posted one of those comments. One year out, it still is to me. The bridge, starting with "My whole life..." and ending with "BITCH YOU GOIN IN CHAINS... COMEUPANDGETME" makes me want to headbutt a fucking moving train.

“Look, I put some data into a mathematical formula, and this is what it spat out!” This article is a harmless, but telling example of the problems with prioritizing the quantitative over the qualitative. This has been fun. 'Giving Bad People Good Ideas' is a non controversial pick cause the darn tune had freakin' blast beats the whole way through - But now lets discuss the most esoteric Death Grips song. I put forth 'Beware' so Exmilitary can see some vindication!
spread eagle is the loudest but probably not the angriest so I agree
Interesting, I find No Love Deep Web is easily one of their heaviest, angriest albums. Also the one that eventually got me into them, so I'm always a bit surprised when I hear slightly lukewarm responses to it. Anyway, still a cool video =)
the sound is skeletal but the anger is REAL
High energy and low valence could easily be a myriad of other emotions though. What about some of the most famous black metal songs ever, that are fast and "negative" sounding, but convey intense grief and pain?
I realize its not on here because it has some more reserved moments in it and its more skeletal sonically, but You might think she loves you... is a supremely angry song.
Yeah, that is also my personal angriest Death Grips song. It is so angry in fact that I got tinnitus from listening to it.
The frustrating thing about cutting out Ex-Military is that you wind up losing truly furious tracks like "Takyon (Death Yon)" and especially "I Want It I Need It". Hrm. Also "World of Dogs" should be way higher.
u forgot spread eagle cross the block
@@BloodestbathBillthat one is loud but I don’t think it’s as angry as some other songs

Stopped listening to the “How To Get Into Death Grips” podcast episode to watch this.
The fuck. You don't need a podcast to get into the music, you either like it or don't nigga
FateBringsMe2U I’ve been a Death Grips fan for a while now... I just like listening to tnd podcast every once in a while during work and that was the episode I happened to be listening to as he uploaded this.
Logan Rowan you get into abrasive music slowly. You play it once in a while as a joke and then it grows on you and then you play it for realsies
Liam Burke that’s exactly how it was for me
@@lipat97 Exactly how it worked for me. The first time I listened to the money store I was shocked, since I hadn’t lost to any abrasive music before that. Shocked, but intrigued. So I listened to it a couple of times and it grew on me. Then I watched a few videos and went on to listen to their other projects, and now I’m a huuuge fan.
?? what a bizarre way to think about music. it reminds me of one of those "lifehacks" videos where they like hot glue colored paperclips together to make a dysfunctional spoon. like, what? why? that doesnt even do anything. and literally everybody already has at least 12 actual spoons. now you're probably thinking 9 billion ppl in the earth times 12 spoons each, that is 108 billion spoos. but notice that i said AT LEAST 12 actual spoons, that is the minimum number. the maximum number of spoons a person would have would be about 200 because my grandma collected little souvenir teaspoons and people would always bring her one if they went on a trip somewhere, and she probably had about 100 spoons, but i can imagine somebody having twice as many spoons as she did, so that gives you a maximum spoons number of about 200. so if you average 12 and 200 you get an average spoons per person number (ASPP) of about 104.3333 repeating, which i will go ahead and round up to 105 since most people have more spoons than they realize. so if you take your ASPP of ~105 and multipy that by the global population (GP) of 9B, you get a figure of 945,000,000,000 total spoons on the earth. now i for one am shocked by that number
Cum
It’s like that one thing from _Dead Poets’ Society_
_excrement._
If the criteria were expanded to describe a generally negative atmosphere for a song, the winner for me on both a lyrical and sonic level, hands down, is "Lock Your Doors." It's just fucking chilling.
Hopefully Death Grips come out with something in 2019! Nonetheless and either way, I hope you have a great day, Melon! Great video! :D

Before watching: I'm guessing Come Up and Get Me or Full Moon
Did you forget what Bottomless Pit sounds like? It's a wall of guitar and distortion from front to back. It definitely deserves that #1 spot by Sonic Anger index.
Anne Bonny, in my opinion, is the angriest DG song because of how full force Ride goes throughout the entire track. There's even a part during the drop where you can really hear how intense he gets.

That anger index graph is aesthetic af.
When I read the premise Giving Bad People Bad Idea's was the first song I thought of... but then I thought there must be angrier Deathgrips songs.
“Lyrical Anger Index” should be a Death Grips song
I was always wondering who is the most angery Mr. Grips
Weird enough I never looked at Death Grips music as angry… When I think of angry music I’d point to some gritty, rugged 90’s east coast Hip-Hop like Big L, DMX, Wu, NWA, Cam’ron etc (West as well). Death Grips is more hype and intense if that makes sense, a lot of great melodies, amazing drums combined with some electronic sounds, whether it’s the Money Store or Bottomless Pit I never thought of them as angry weirdly enough.
1: Full Moon (Death Classic)
2: Hot Head

I think TATI is very aggressive
you can't calculate emotions lol
I mean if you want to get technical you can't because everyone interprets emotions differently, therefore making such an assertion an opinion. But that's boring as fuck...
Powers That B I think is the angriest
"you're a shiny clown to me, and the POWERS THAT B"
It's 'Come Up And Get Me', you're welcome
I will say it’s The Powers That B or Lock your doors
Pacthony Mantano
(Or: Pacthony Maintano)
I dont listen to death grips but Anthony fantano is cool
Death Grips' songs don't have anger in them, they are anger
Fantano still pronouncing BB Poison as “Bee Bee Poison” despite the fact that Stefan pronounces bbpoltergiest as “babypoltergiest” in the track.
Do we need to argue? Its clearly Bottomless Pit.
"Ill fuck you in half" is objectively a pretty angry statement
Centuries of damn famn
uh... The Powers That B sounds pretty damn angry
Hey Anthony, do you listen to angry music like Death Grips in order to cope with your baldness?
Curious, I think that System Blower is one of their angriest songs so far, maybe it hasn’t the most agressive lyrics, but the instrumentals are really heavy, it has more varied elements than songs like Giving Bad People Good Ideas, and in my opinion, it makes System Blower be angrier, I think that track is underrated in the article.
I would pick No Love, Bottomless Pit, Blood Creepin, and Why A B* Gotta Lie off the top of my head.
Honorable mention goes to Bubbles Buried In This Jungle just for how aggressive it sounds; the lyrics aren’t *that* angry.
