Being born in 1972 the machines of the late 70's and all through the 80's made the biggest impression on me. From Pickaway county Ohio CASE and IH seemed to be most popular.
Im glad to see my familys old minneapolis moline a4t still in working condition after it was bought from us and to see it now at that show is cool.... Thanks for bringing me peace knowing its in goof condition and not at a scrap yard
Those farmers are clearly having fun ! Back when I was knee high to a grass hopper, Dad taught me how to use our 4x4 ih 4166 and 7x18 ih reset plow. I spent many a day operating that plow. My neck got so terrible sore. Dad still got those. Great video.
Boy those fields are so so dry , you folks sure went through quite a drought this year. Down here in Atlantic Canada it was so wet that I just finished my first crop of hay this weekend. Had to roll the wind rows over 3 times because there were spots where there was water on top of the ground. Oh well I got to save some money this year as I made all three crops in one. Hope all goes well for the American farmers this year. Thanks for the video
That Massey Ferguson 5200 what a awesome beast of a tractor. You can tell it's pulling it's load with ease. Hands down it was the baddest looking tractor there. They are all great tractors I love all the old classic tractors no matter the brand. The White is a real eye catcher, Beautiful tractor.
I Enjoyed watching the older tractors McCormick and John Deere. I remember as a kid we used the B Farmall for planting 2 rows at a time plowing, with a disc
What day was the Allis 8550 working? I missed that one. My son was so thrilled to take a picture with you and your Steiger, Jason. Thanks for all your work and content.
MY FAVORITE... ARE THE 2 FARMALL M AND 300 HOOKED UP TOGETHER... DID NOT KNOW THAT THEY DID THAT BACK IN THE DAY... BIG OL RED TRACTOR POWER... IH 4 LIFE...!! 👨👩👧👦❤📿🇺🇸
The steiger and the versatile were pulling 12 bottoms twice as fast as the tractor on the 20 bottom so at the end of the day they have plowed as much and more than likely more !
Steiger made a disc that would decouple in half and become a Tow behind disc. Rather than folding up like modern ones. This was back when Hydraulics and such were more cumbersome and hydraulics in equipment was still a newer thing. Still a very cool concept. With fewer moving parts that could break.
@@nellsonstout7001 yes there were, but Steiger made one that did not fold and became a tow behind. Also allowing lower horsepowerd tractors to tow each half or both for higher horsepower tractors.

Nice video. The MF 5200 almost has a “muscular” styling to it. The Case 2870 is a beautiful tractor, as is the White WFE 4-210. White made some nice looking iron towards the end.
Great video Jason. They all had some good qualities. But I did kind of like the Steigers especially the Steiger Tiger. Also the Massive Masseys were pretty intimidating. Heard several Detroit Diesels there!
JD 8020, and of course White 4-210 just because i use to run one back in Highschool days. I would like to see a John Deere 435 with the Detroit engine. little tractor, but pretty cool.
Steiger tiger with that kta Cummins you can crank that up to 600 hp and run it all day. And that other Cummins in the steiger 250 hp been turned up too to be pulling a 12 bottom plow at 13.39
That Case 2870 still looked like new. It sure looks like they could use a good rain over there, as much as we need one here in Central Indiana. I'm a Case guy thru and thru along with always like the old IH tractors, and loved the Steiger's, but really all the old 4 wheel drive tractors were cool looking back in the day, regardless what brand.
Yeah, plus I've always wondered what kind of yields they get on that ground where they hold the show. Between the compaction and working the piss out of the ground, has to take its toll, especially in real dry yrs. I remember as a kid telling my Grampa we should get together with other neighbor farmers, and host the Farm Progress show 1 yr, this was back when the Show move around from Indiana, Illinois and Iowa each yr, my Grampa said, no way do we want to be a host, because of all the compaction, and he said a lot of the host farmers over the yrs ended up with financial issues within a few yrs after hosting the Farm Progress show. I do miss having the Farm Progress show being here in Indiana. One of the last Farm Progress shows held in Indiana was just North of us about 15 minutes, which was nice. Over the yrs of my life it had been close to us a few times, which made it nice, not having to drive very far. Now to go the Farm Progress show its close to a 3 hour drive, so I have been to it in a while, but as of now I plan on heading there Tuesday.
These fields are all for demonstrating machinery. They plow these fields twice a day to show machines at work to 60,000 people. The crops are in essence props for the matching to knock down. I bet the price of admission to 60,000 spectators is more than the ground could produce.
Is it dry in the U.S or is it like in Europe, cause it sure rain a lot here. Still amazing machines. I've always liked big tractors and any big machines really. Almost reminds me of the tractor i owned up until last year, when i sold it. Still. I can always buy a different tractor, and i have a few different brands and models to pick from
Some spots are dry and some are and some are just right. Happens every year. The spots that are usually dry are still dry and the spots that are usually wet are still wet. Nothing unusual about the weather. Its always been like this.
Yeah LOL I agree with that comment on the overworked ground obviously doesn't matter how big it is if the ground is overworked it doesn't plow deep ! Lol!

Those big 4WD are cool and I love watching them, but I kinda feel sorry for the smaller tractor guys. Those big machines plow so much ground so fast, just about the only way the smaller guys get to plow much after such a long trip is in already plowed ground and that doesn't take much effort, so they don't get to really run their tractors like they were originally meant to run/work. They need double the acres........or keep them working in separate fields (or maybe they are doing that now?)
