About Cole & Charisma:
Welcome to the official Roll with Cole & Charisma UA-cam channel! Since the start of our relationship we've gotten a lot of questions about our experiences as not only an interracial couple, but an interabled one as well. On this channel you can catch us doing travel and adventure vlogs, challenges, our inclusion series, couple first times, music, and so much more! My daughter was injured a year ago and is now a paraplegic so I can relate with some of what you guys go through

I love that you celebrate this day rather than feeling down about it, it is really good to see! I always think of the day I injured myself (I have chronic knee and back pain) in such a negative way but hopefully one day I can see it as a positive like you! ❤

My accident was June 30th 2010, and for me it was that I was never going to walk again or do any of the things that I thought I enjoyed the most in life but when I finally got to see my children nearly six months later for the first time and my baby was potty trained and nervous and shy instead of her bubbly self with me I knew in that moment that I didn't care as much about that I just wanted to be there I wanted to be with my children living life no matter how different it may be now so in my 12 years I did two things that I wasn't expected to and today one of those was following my 6-year-old son around the park listening at him talk about mommy's robot leg, I may not be as athletic as I used to be but that's because I'm so busy being the most devoted in loving mother to the five most amazing children on the planet! My advice would be to anyone who wakes up one day to find out that things may be drastically different but as long as they're not drastically over they can be fantastically full of happiness love and never ending DAILY blessings!! And I also think things have definitely gotten more accessible but I also agree that I didn't pay attention to it before

Happy injur-versary 😊 I love your view of it 11 years on. I am also disabled but due to chronic illness and I'm not a wheelchair user. (yet!) I can't believe there are still places in the 21st century that are in accessible to wheelchair users (which definitelyshould be!). I'm autistic and ADHD too and we're still working on getting places to be accessible for neurodivergent people. We've made a start but there's still a long way to go. Much love from the UK 🇬🇧 ❤️❤️

I discovered your channel about three months ago. I'm guessing you're still in Southern California -- I grew up in Santa Paula, which isn't far from where you are.
I'm also a retired US Air Force Registered Nurse, so I can relate to the various medical trials you're having to go through.
You two are very special people -- seeing how you both deal with your daily life takes a very special type of people, and I salute you both for having the wonderful life you seem to be enjoying, all considered.
I recently met a man who has a Chevy pickup just like yours, and had very similar modifications. I told him about your channel, so I hope he was able to view your channel and might be getting something from you. What caught my attention is that his wheelchair was a very similar setup to yours.
If you ever get out and go up into Ventura County, look at Santa Paula. There is a Mexican restaurant that I always make a pilgrimage to; La Cabana. It's been an "institution" in Santa Paula for many years. My Dad who was a realtor in Santa Paula, sold the building to them, and our family have been regulars there since they opened. I think you could probably get into there and enjoy a good meal. The Araiza family are your hosts there. The place has good food, good service, and is very unpretentious and the prices are very reasonable.
We'll keep La Cabana in mind during our travels! We looove Mexican food

I love watching you both celebrating! I am part of the young pacemaker community (I was 26) & we celebrate our “paciversary” every year! Mines December 12, 2016. At 1st I was miserable about it but celebrating getting a 2nd chance at life is amazing! So yes YES celebrate your 2nd chance ALWAYS!
You and Charisma are beautiful souls. I thank you for sharing your lives. It helps me become aware of disabilities, and your surroundings. My mother lost the ability to walk in 2009. It made me aware of things that she had to endure. Thank you for sharing your lives.

I have learned alot with you guys about the life of a paraplegic. I love your food excursions. My question is how does Cole know he is full? What are the sensations that come will being full? Thank you for you time and KEEP ON KEEPING ON... Teaching us and allowing us to enjoy life from your eyes.

Thank you for the inspiration as usual. Yesterday was not only my 54th birthday it was also my second injurversery. It’s no fun getting paralyzed and becoming a quadriplegic on your birthday. But I have a lot of support from friends and family like you guys. I’m going to be thinking of peach cobbler for days now thanks.

if you want to travel to Orange, Chapman Avenue, there are two restaurants that are really special I think you would love. The Hobbit Restaurant, look them up as you have to reserve and it's a 4 hr. meal. It says accessible but do call to see what all is accessible as I don't recall if the wine cellar is or not, but this place is worth every single penny. I'd recommend a local hotel so you don't have to drive after. lol It's really something. I'm a selective eater to say the least and I've always eaten and loved every morsel they served me and that's saying a LOT. They post upcoming menus in advance so just pick a date they have something you would love to try. Perfect anniversary or celebration place.
Next, on down the street is Orange County Mining Company. Go before sunset as the sunset from the deck is stunning, and the food is so so good. It also says accessible but I don't know if you'd have to stay in the upper portion, so do call and ask questions. It is also worth every penny, so look them up.

It was a little strange to me at first to hear you saying you were ‘celebrating your injur-versary’ but after hearing your thought process and evolution of how you approach it really made me think differently. Although I was born disabled, I still would say my outlook has changed as I’ve gotten older as well. I focus much more on my ‘abilities’ rather than my ‘disabilities’. It really just change your whole life when you change your focus and mindset. Thank you for sharing your life with us. It really helps and inspires so many of us.

As you both come acoss other agencies in Calfornia do continue to share.
I for instance needed complex surgery which S Nevada area specialsts could not provide so I was referred to UCLA
in Los Angeles.
It s important to first get your referral documented in your home state before seaking treatment at a major medical center.
Southwest Airlines was Very helpful while I boarded many flights from Harry Reid Int l Airport in Las Vegas to LAX in CA… My wheelchair also arrived in good condition.

I recommend my patients and their families follow your UA-cam channel for more insight into living with a spinal cord injury and caring for and assisting someone with a spinal cord injury.
